David Beckham has called Victoria the ‘best mommy’ as he paid a Mother’s Day tribute to his wife amid their ongoing feud with their son Brooklyn.

Back in January, David and Victoria’s eldest child Brooklyn took to Instagram with an explosive statement addressing his relationship with the rest of his family following months of rumours that they’re in a feud. The post saw him claim his parents, who he said controlled narratives, tried to ‘ruin’ his relationship with his wife Nicola Peltz.

On top of this, Brooklyn said he does not want to ‘reconcile’ with his family. A number of famous faces have had their say on the situation which has drawn comparisons to Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s fallout with the Royal Family, in the wake of Brooklyn’s message.

One portion of Brooklyn’s post which has gained a lot of attention saw him allege that Victoria ‘danced very inappropriately’ after ‘hijacking’ his first dance with Nicola. He said: “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”

While Victoria, or David, hasn’t directly responded to Brooklyn’s accusations, former Spice Girl Victoria has insisted earlier in the week that she simply wanted to be ‘the best mum’ while ‘Brand Beckham’ happened naturally.

Speaking to Emma Grede on her Aspire podcast, the fashion designer said: “Our children have had a very different upbringing to myself and David and I think the world is also a very different place now than what it was when they were younger. We’ve always tried to protect the children as much as we can, we’ve always been very close.

“Ultimately, we want the kids to be hard-working and kind. I’ve always wanted to be the best mum that I could be and look after the kids. I also feel it’s been part of my job to really help them fulfil their full potential. It’s never about being pushy, it’s about being there to support.”

With Sunday (May 10) marking Mother’s Day in the United States, Manchester United legend David took to Instagram to pay his respects to the mother of his four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

Sharing a black and white picture of Victoria to his 86.6 million followers, David wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day to the best mommy.”

Replying on her own page, Victoria simply stated: “I love you.” Victoria also shared a snap of a lavish bouquet of white roses to her Instagram story with an emoji of an American flag.

Lady Beckham tagged her husband, who was knighted earlier in the year, in the post and wrote: “I love you so much.” The pair have been together since 1997, tying the knot two years after they began seeing each other.

Also celebrating Mother’s Day was Kylie Minogue, who shared a throwback image of herself and her mother with her 3.3 million followers. The chart-topping singer wrote ‘happy Mother’s Day to the BEST’ and followed the message with many emojis.

Other stars getting in on the action included German-American model Heidi Klum, who shared a snap with her mother accompanied by a caption written in German saying ‘Ich liebe Dich Mutti’ which translates to ‘I love you mummy’. While Celebrity Big Brother’s JoJo Siwa shared a lengthy tribute to her mother Jessalynn to Instagram on Sunday, which featured a carousel of images of the two.

She said: “I have her to thank for everything. She is the strongest and greatest person that I know. I couldn’t imagine a life without her being my mom. I’m lucky that I never have to. I love you more that you know, and I think I’m officially probably old enough to start stealing your saying and say it back to you: I love you no matter what.”
