But the coupleâs new home isnât just for the two of them. Their hearts â and their home â now belong to a tiny, three-week-old lamb named Fluff. The little lamb, who tragically broke her leg after her mother accidentally stepped on her, has been adopted permanently by the couple
Jess shared her delight: âWe have a new pet. This is Fluff. Sheâs quite precious. Lambing can be tough⊠lots can go wrong.â She added, laughing, âSheâs going to be our pet sheep now â sheâll live with us forever. Sheâs even been in the house, sleeping on a blanket.â
Reuben is just as smitten, joking that Fluff feels more like a child than a pet. âSheâs so cute. When she sees Jess, her little face absolutely lights up. Sheâs starting to get to know her name now too,â he said.
The pair first met at a Young Farmers convention in 2024 and went public with their relationship later that year. Reuben gradually settled into farm life, admitting, âI used to come down at night to see Jess and I just wouldnât want to leave. It started with a toothbrush, and now my pants are in the washing machine and my dinner is on the table. Now Iâm all in.â
Despite their growing TV fame on Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, the couple insist their daily life is far from glamorous. Their routine is packed with 5am starts, exhausting lambing shifts, and the occasional farming mishap â like the time they collided while trying to catch a sheep, letting it escape completely.
âThere isnât much partying. More 5am starts,â Reuben admits. âBut in each other, weâve found someone who really gets the beauty of farming life.â
The new series of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales premieres on Channel 5 on May 5, promising more behind-the-scenes romance, farm chaos, and of course, plenty of adorable Fluff moments
