😱 MYSTERY UNSOLVED: The Vanishing of Ester Estepa – A True Crime That Shocked the World!

Netflix has quietly released a gripping new documentary series that will captivate true crime enthusiasts, and it is ready to stream immediately.

The streaming giant has today (Friday, March 6) introduced the limited series to its catalogue as it explores a disturbing case involving a woman’s sudden disappearance.

Titled The TikTok Killer, the two-part true crime documentary series transports audiences back to 2023 when 42-year-old Ester Estepa vanished without a trace in Spain. With no explanations and no substantial leads, her distraught family and loved ones launch their own investigation, piecing together her final movements, desperate to uncover what truly occurred.

Available to view from today, Netflix reveals: “Ester Estepa’s mother keeps receiving messages from her daughter – long after she disappears. In a quest for answers, she contacts a curious TikToker.”

The docuseries chronicles the devastating account of how Ester’s loved ones last heard from her in August 2023, three days after she commenced her journey, which was peculiar in itself. Her mother became suspicious of her messages, requesting her to send a voice message, until communication eventually ceased, reports the Mirror.

Tragically, Ester’s body was ultimately discovered in 2024 in a remote area in Spain. Produced by iZen Documentales, the documentary is in Spanish, however it can be viewed with English subtitles and English speaking voice actors.

The programme will feature social media content alongside messages that reveal those final digital footprints. Helmed by director Héctor Muniente, the new series will incorporate archive material and poignant interviews with relatives and those close to her, as well as expert commentary.

It has been teased: “The two-episode documentary miniseries draws on archival footage and interviews with those closest to Ester to tell an intimate, fragmented investigation one marked by uncertainty – where the digital world serves as an inadvertent archive of a real story that centres on the search for answers by those who knew her.”

Detectives and relatives managed to reconstruct Ester’s final movements, which led them to travel content creator José Jurado Montilla, who documented his journeys throughout Spain on TikTok, posting clips of his adventures on social media.

Also referred to as “Dynamite” Montilla”, he was believed to have been amongst the last individuals to encounter Ester whilst she was still alive.

According to reports, Montilla had previously been incarcerated before launching his social media presence but was freed following the European Court of Human Rights’ decision on the Parot Doctrine, a judgement that revised prison sentence calculations.

At present, he remains in custody awaiting trial for two murders, the Mirror US reports. However, he maintains his innocence.

The TikTok Killer has been hailed as the ideal viewing for true crime enthusiasts and is now ready to stream on Netflix. In recent weeks, numerous individuals have used social media to spread word of its release, declaring it a “must watch”.

One individual posted: “Tomorrow I’m watching that Tiktok Killer on Netflix.” Another commented: “I’ve saved this can’t wait to watch.”
