âRemarkably Bright Creaturesâ Trailer: Watch Sally Field And Lewis Pullman Bond As Alfred Molinaâs Octopus Marcellus Narrates

âHumans, for the most part, are inept creatures,â Alfred Molinaâs Marcellus, the Giant Pacific Octopus and star of the story says as the clip opens
When Lewis Pullmanâs character â Cameron in the book â is hired to replace her as aquarium glass cleaner, Tova takes up the task of showing him that âthere is a right way and a wrong way to do things.â
Her instructions for him range from cleaning the aquatic cages in circular motions, not up and down to prying chewing gum off the aquarium floor.

âOf all the humans, I suppose I mind the cleaning lady the least,â Molinaâs Marcellus says, educing that Tova and Pullmanâs character âshare a similar affliction.â
Tova lost her son, but itâs not Colm Meaneyâs Ethanâs story to tell as Cameron learns. Turns out, Cameronâs mother wasnât in his life very much either.
âThere may be potential for mutual repair,â Marcellus says as he wraps tentacles around both Tovaâs and Cameronâs arms.

âGo ahead,â Tova encourages Cameron. âHe wonât hurt you.â Then the climax of Noah Kahanâs âNorthern Attitudeâ sounds as people encourage Tova to get out and socialize. Cameron looks to form a romantic connection under her watchful eye as well.
Remarkably Bright Creatures also stars Joan Chen, Kathy Baker, Beth Grant, Sofia Black DâElia.
