As she approaches her 40th birthday, This Morning star Josie Gibson is opening up about love, life, and what truly matters — while finally addressing those swirling romance rumors with co-host Stephen Mulhern.

The 39-year-old presenter admitted that, at this stage in her life, her greatest priority is her six-year-old son Reggie. “Reg is my biggest distraction,” she told The Mirror. “Connections and relationships are everything — they’re what stay with you forever. What’s meant to be on your path will be on your path. You can spend all day worrying, but it won’t get you anywhere.”

Too Busy for Love — For Now

Despite recent speculation, Josie was quick to set the record straight: she is single. Balancing motherhood with her television career has left little space for romance.

“It wouldn’t be fair,” she admitted. “My time is split between my son and my job — where would anyone else fit in?”

Yet Josie remains content with her life as it is. “I feel like I know myself now. If anything happened tomorrow, I could honestly say I’ve had a great time. Life’s been stressful, sure — but I’ve had a blast. I’m so lucky. At the end of the day, as long as everyone’s happy and healthy, then we’re winning.”The Stephen Mulhern Rumors

Speculation about Josie and Stephen began in April, when the pair were spotted holding hands backstage at Saturday Night Takeaway. Fans immediately suspected romance, but both quickly laughed off the claims.

Stephen, 47, brushed off the chatter during a cheeky grilling from Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on This Morning. “She didn’t turn up to rehearsals, so I held her hand and showed her where to stand — that’s it, finito!” he said with a laugh, though his blushes only fueled the teasing further.

Josie herself even joked to MailOnline: “I’m in love with Stephen Mulhern. There you go. But story of my life — I don’t think he loves me!”

Matters of the Heart

Romance, however, is not something Josie is chasing. The Big Brother winner admitted she has always been cautious with love, saying she only falls deeply once every seven or eight years.

“To even kiss someone, I have to really love them,” she explained. “I can’t give my energy away if I’m not fully into it. I’ve had my heart broken before, and I just can’t go through that again.”

Her romantic history includes her Big Brother boyfriend John James Parton in 2010, her former fiancé Luke Sanwo, and Reggie’s father, Terry, whom she still praises as a “fantastic dad.”

A New Chapter Ahead

Now, as she balances life in Bath with work commitments in London, Josie is embracing single motherhood with gratitude. “If I was to meet someone, I’d regret taking time away from my little boy. He’s only this age once, and I don’t want to miss it.”

Having first captured the nation’s hearts by winning Big Brother back in 2010, Josie has since reinvented herself as one of ITV’s most beloved presenters. And as she looks ahead to turning 40, she insists that love will come if it’s meant to — but for now, happiness is already hers.
