Big Brother star Alex Sibley looked unrecognisable as he announced his decision to stand for Reform ahead of today’s local election

A Big Brother star looked unrecognisable after revealing his decision to stand for Reform UK in London, ahead of today’s local elections.

Alex Sibley appeared on the third season of the reality show, which first aired in 2002. He shared the house with the late Jade Goody, Alison Hammond, Adele Roberts and Kate Lawler, who went on to win the show.

After dipping his toe into the modelling world and turning his attention to presenting, the 47-year-old shared his new career move on Instagram just days before the polls opened.

In a snap shared on Instagram, he could be seen posing beside David Johnson, announcing his bid for a seat to represent Emerson Park in Havering, London for Reform – led by Nigel Farage.

The photo showed him looking at his fellow campaigner, while wearing a giant blue rosette pinned to his navy suit. He captioned the post: “It’s Official. 7th May 2026. With a combined age of 126 years old and no degree from Oxford or Cambridge in Politics, we are Emerson Park candidates for Havering and Reform UK.”

At the time of writing, the upload currently boasts just 38 likes, while Alex has turned off the option for his followers to comment underneath.

Alex first came to fame in Big Brother but failed to win the show and eventually came in third, behind Johnny Regan and radio presenter Kate.

Following his time in the infamous house, he continued to appear on TV and landed stints on Nickelodeon and Celebrity Bling Date, but later took a step back from the limelight after a devastating car crash.

“A major thing happened in my life. A guy ran into the side of my car and died from his injuries,” he told the Sun in 2020. “I lost my kids TV programme. I had a live show on Nickelodeon, and I was about to do panto.

“Because that all lost I then started f***ing hating Big Brother because it was my stepping stone into doing something else. I was making a lot of money. The first year I made nearly £250,000 which is insane.

“Every year after that I used to be a little bit excited watching it, but then it would bring back some bad memories.”
