Our insiders reveal how Scarlett’s jungle comeback reignited ITV’s obsession with her – plus the huge plans now being lined up behind the scenes.

GLIDING down the red carpet at the glitzy BAFTA TV Awards this weekend, Scarlett Moffatt had a new air of confidence about her – and it is no wonder as I can reveal she is plotting her TV comeback and I have all the details.
Journalists and celebs alike commented on how happy and amazing the former Gogglebox star looked as she proudly posed with her baby bump.
Fresh off the back of her I’m A Celebrity All Stars jungle stint, Scarlett is in her metamorphosis stage.
After years of shunning the spotlight, she’s coming out from her quiet life in the North East with her police officer husband Scott Dobinson and two-year-old son Jude, ready to take on the telly world.
I can reveal high-powered execs are taking notice and are lining up a string of exciting opportunities for her.
It’s been sparked by the reaction for her successful stint on I’m A Celeb.
Staying out of the crazy drama involving the likes of David Haye and Adam Thomas, Scarlett established herself as a voice of reason and a pair of safe hands.
It caught the eye of ITV bosses.
Already she’s bagged a spot on celeb cooking show Cooking With The Stars – but more exciting prospects are on the horizon as ITV strive to make her their golden girl.
Insiders say they’re clambering to sign Scarlett up for some exciting telly projects after she gives birth to her second baby this summer – and she’s keen to snap their hands off as she establishes herself as the premier female personality.
They see her as the next Stacey Dooley, who is famous for her gritty BBC documentaries, and want to snap her up in a golden handcuffs deal which keeps her at ITV.
A source said: “Scarlett is so relatable.
“Her sudden burst back on the telly scene is not by chance. This is her comeback.
“She’s the northern voice of reason we need right now.”
Scarlett rose to fame in 2014 on Gogglebox alongside her mum and dad, Mark and Betty.
A stand-out star, Scarlett forged her own career in television.
She went Down Under to I’m A Celeb in 2016 and it cemented her status.
Clearly a talent, she went on to take over Streetmate, the Davina McCall dating show, before landing the huge job of assisting TV legends Ant and Dec on ITV’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
But she retreated from the public eye after her 2019 Channel 4 show, The British Tribe Next Door, faced a fierce backlash.
Accused of brandishing a “white saviour complex” as she replicated her semi-detached home in a Namibian village, Scarlett was forced to defend the “offensive” show.
It’s not been an easy ride for Scarlett – who faced a major family crisis when her mum stole £50,000 from her to fund a secret online gambling addiction.
Now firmly back in the public eye, sources close to the star say she’s lapping up all the opportunities and enjoying being back in the spotlight.
Having weathered the storm, the positive feedback after I’m A Celeb has made Scarlett more confident about stepping out back onto the box, say insiders.
Execs are even drumming up a plan for a new reality show with Scarlett at the forefront.
The format has been hugely successful for ITVX, with reality stars Ferne McCann and Sam and Billie Faiers at the forefront as they let cameras into their family life.
With all their shows canned, it leaves a gaping hole in the schedule for a celeb family show,
And with a new baby on the way, Scarlett’s home life is prime telly territory.
“Scarlett has grown up in the public eye,” said the source. “After taking some years out of the limelight, she’s back and ready to forge her telly career.
“Meet the Moffatts is an idea on the table.”
Josie Gibson’s recent success with her How To Clean Up for Cash has shown ITV execs that personalities are a proven ratings success and they are hoping to clean up with Scarlett.
