Singer and actress Rita Ora has revealed that she ‘can’t remember’ much of her husband’s 50th birthday party in Ibiza which she celebrated with Hollywood stars and elite models including Kate Moss.
Rita Ora has been a household name for some time. And while she made a name for herself on the music scene over the years, her social circle was certainly one to be envied. Now a married step-mother of two, you would assume that her party days were firmly behind her – but that was until her husband Taika Cohen turned 50, back in August last year. When asked at the King’s Trust Awards held at London’s Royal Albert Hall, about the lavish party the TV personality, 35, said she barely remembered the events of the night.
Surrounded by Hollywood stars including Matt Damon, Sacha Baron Cohen and legendary models such as Kate Moss, Rita admitted that the night became somewhat of a blur.
The couple hosted a villa in the party Spanish town of Ibiza. When asked how the celebrations went, Rita responded saying: “Oh, goodness, yes – it was a lot of fun, but I’m not going to lie, I can’t remember much of it!”
Over the years, Rita has faced her fair share of online criticism due to her wardrobe choices and relationships. But having married filmmaker Taika back in 2022, it seems she has a more positive outlook on online trolls.
She added: “It only gets to you badly if you open your world up too much while actually creating music. That can become tricky. But once the music is out there, opinions come with the job, and you kind of accept that everyone’s going to feel differently.”
And giving advice to those coming up in the same industry that she found fame in back in 2003, Rita said hopefuls should take things with a pinch of salt.
She continued: ““I would say a big part of it is about not being too swayed by people’s opinions. It’s hard because, naturally, you want everyone’s approval. That’s human nature. But sometimes, asking for too many opinions can actually make you doubt your own creative instincts. Sometimes, you just need to go for it.”
She added: “Creativity is totally personal. You don’t know what’s going to work, because nobody can predict the future,
so I think it’s really important to stay true to what you genuinely want to do.”
Rita was young when she shot to fame. Her family moved from Kosovo to London when she was a baby, and her first taste of stardom came in 2012, aged just 21, when she featured on DJ Fresh’s single Hot Right Now, which rocketed to No1.
The Masked Singer judge prefers to keep her options open when it comes to her career. She went on to say: “’ve never really limited myself. I think people have got to know me through music, fashion and TV – I’ve always been quite 360 in the way I approach my career. “
She added: “I just want to keep doing things that I genuinely enjoy, it’s really as simple as that.”
