A Place In The Sun star Jasmine Harman has revealed she’s had to step back from the show for at least two weeks. The popular presenter, 50, has hosted the Channel 4 property programme since 2002 and is a huge hit with fans.
For years, viewers have tuned in to watch Jasmine try and convince scores of plucky punters to move into their dream home abroad. However, now the mum-of-two has had to take time off from the show as she recovers from a hernia operation.
Taking to Instagram, sharing a snap of herself in a hospital gown, Jasmine explained she would be out of action for at least two weeks, sharing: “Normally on a Monday morning, if I’m not working, I would be doing my Zumba class. Today I’m not doing it. Reason being, I’m recovering from surgery, I had to have a small surgical procedure – nothing serious – just a little hernia operation.”

A hernia is where part of an internal organ, such as the bowel, pushes through a gap or weak area in the muscle that keeps our organs in place.
According to the NHS, most hernias develop in the abdomen or groin. Some cause a lump under your skin, while others are internal and cannot be seen. Some improve on their own but others may need surgery.
Explaining that she would be taking time off work, Jasmine continued: “I’ve got a couple of weeks off work, and I know I’ve been a bit quiet on here; that’s the reason why. Although it’s a small procedure, any kind of surgery really knocks the wind out of your sails.

“So I will be taking it easy, enjoying the opportunity to slow down a little bit, which doesn’t happen very often, but I just wanted to let you guys know.”
Captioning her post, Jasmine insisted her operation was nothing serious, but did say she had been ordered to rest, writing: “I’m currently recovering from a small surgical procedure.
“Everything went really well, and it’s nothing serious, but I’m under strict instructions to rest… which for me, is easier said than done. So for now it’s comfy clothes, early nights and no Zumba!” She signed off: “Anyone else find it hard to slow down and sit still?”
Jasmine’s surgery comes three months after she revealed a male nurse had recognised her from A Place In The Sun during a routine smear test. Recalling the awkward exchange, she shared on Instagram: “He looked up and looked at me and went: ‘Oh, I’ve just realised where I recognise you from.
“So awkward, but anyway, hopefully you won’t have a bad experience like that. But do go for your smear test!”
