Tom Read Wilson says he has never been in love as star reveals he no longer feels a ‘gentleman is missing’ from his life as he jokes his effeminate voice gets in the way of his sex life

Tom Read Wilson has admitted he has never truly been in love, explaining that he hasn’t yet found “his person” during a candid podcast discussion about his personal life. The TV personality, best known as the client coordinator on Celebs Go Dating for the past decade, gained a whole new audience last year following his standout appearance on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.

After finishing in second place on the reality show with overwhelming public support, Tom, 39, revealed that he no longer feels as though a “gentleman” is missing from his life. Appearing on Paul Brunson’s podcast We Need To Talk, he said:

Confessing he has never been in love he continued: ' I'd like to know that feeling at some stage. I found my person, you know, that would be nice' (pictured on I'm A Celeb with Angry Ginge)

“Everything shifted for me in the last 18 months to two years because I’m really happy being single. I’m content with my lot. I always thought the missing thing in my life was a gentleman — now I don’t. If it tumbled into my life, I’d be happy as a clam, but I’m not actively seeking it.”

Confessing he has never experienced true love, Tom added: “I’d like to know that feeling at some stage. I’d like to find my person — that would be nice.”

He also joked that his posh, effeminate voice sometimes works against him in romance. “It’s not an aphrodisiac,” he quipped. “In some ways it helps, it adds to your presence, but romantically… people don’t want Angela Lansbury’s voice coming out in a steamy setting!”

Despite being a talking point for his vocal style, Tom insisted his voice is authentic, with co-star Anna Williamson confirming to The Sun that Tom speaks in his normal, posh voice and that the reality show accurately represents who he is.

During his time on I’m A Celeb, Tom impressed viewers and fellow contestants with his wit, vocabulary, and versatility — even playfully adopting a thick Cockney accent at times, which left audiences curious about his real voice.

Tom’s openness about his love life, his single status, and the playful honesty regarding his effeminate voice has endeared him further to fans, highlighting his unique personality and charm as he navigates both fame and personal discovery.
