Katie Price launched a scathing attack on former footballer Dwight Yorke via Instagram on Father’s Day, accusing him of abandoning their son Harvey.
The 48-year-old former glamour model posted a rare photograph showing Mr Yorke bathing Harvey as an infant, accompanied by a furious message directed at the ex-Manchester United player.
“You should be ashamed of yourself disowning your son,” Ms Price wrote, tagging both Mr Yorke and Harvey’s official accounts.
She continued: “He lights up everyone who meets him, which is a credit to me. If only you treated him the same as your other son, says a lot about what a s**t dad you are period.” (sic)
Mr Yorke has an 18-year-old son named Orlando, who has reportedly never met his half-brother, Harvey.
Harvey, now 24, was born in May 2002 shortly after his parents’ relationship ended.
He lives with Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes an insatiable appetite and impacts both learning and behaviour.
The condition means he is prone to weight gain due to a chronic feeling of hunger.
Harvey has also been diagnosed with autism and suffers from Septo-optic dysplasia, which has left him blind.
Additionally, he has an underactive thyroid and diabetes.
His complex health needs mean he requires round-the-clock care.
When Harvey was a baby, doctors warned Ms Price that her son might never be able to walk or talk.
However, he has since defied those expectations, making remarkable progress over the years.
Mr Yorke initially denied being Harvey’s father during Ms Price’s pregnancy, forcing her to undergo DNA testing to establish paternity.
Ms Price has repeatedly criticised the former footballer for his treatment of their son, whom she has raised without his involvement.
In her 2016 memoir Reborn, she alleged that Mr Yorke refused to accept Harvey’s disabilities.
“I’d explained Harvey’s condition to Dwight many times, but he refused to understand it and kept going on about him being fat,” she wrote.
Ms Price claimed in the book that Mr Yorke told her he wanted no further contact with either her or Harvey.
“Even after he said that, I was still trying to be persistent. I wanted Harvey to have his dad in his life, but he just wasn’t interested in any of it,” she wrote.
In her documentary Harvey and Me, Ms Price spoke about her son’s incredible development.
Despite the estrangement, Ms Price has maintained that Mr Yorke would be welcome to build a relationship with Harvey.
Ms Price has expressed hope that one day she might witness father and son together.
