A FOX anchor has unexpectedly stepped down from her hosting duties at a local network.

News anchor Rachel Keller is leaving WFXT-TV (Boston 25) this Friday, she recently announced.
She announced the news earlier this month, leaving viewers gutted and saddened.
In a Facebook post shared on her page last week, Rachel revealed her exit.
She began the post by saying: “After an incredible chapter, I’ll be signing off from Boston 25 at the end of this month.
“It has been an honor to serve this community and tell the stories that matter most to New England.
“From breaking news to moments of celebration, I have been privileged to be welcomed into your homes each day.”
She went on: “Whether late at night or bright and early in the morning, you’ve trusted me to bring you the news, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
“Boston will always have a special place in my heart.
“To our viewers, thank you for your support. To my colleagues and friends—many of whom have become family—thank you for making this journey so meaningful.
“I’m incredibly excited for what’s next and can’t wait to share more with you soon. Stay tuned!”
Signing off, Rachel concluded her post by writing: “In the meantime, my last day on air will be June 26. I hope you’ll join me until then. Love, Rachel.”
Fans were quick to comment on the post, with one person writing: “You’ll be sorely missed Rachel & congratulations on your new endeavor.”
“Some great anchor people have left Boston 25. Best of luck to you,” added another.
“This is very sad to hear. Good luck in your next chapter adventure,” penned a third.
“So many changes on Fox 25. Best of luck Rachel,” said a fourth.
While a fifth added: “Good luck… Fox 25 losing more people than a corn maze in the fall. What is going on there?”
Rachel is known for anchoring three newscasts each day on Boston 25.
She has long been at the helm of the 5 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. weekday newscasts and reports.
Her reports have mostly been for Boston 25’s Wellness Wednesday segment.
As well as hosting her regular slots, Rachel has covered the December 2025 shooting at Brown University, the 2025 Karen Read trial, and this year’s blizzard in February.
Rachel’s last day on air will be June 2026.
Another local news anchor recently quit his job in a more dramatic fashion.
Iowa-based NBC morning show host Dustin Nolan announced his exit on air, slamming being forced to deliver “sanitized news.”
Good Morning America host Janai Norman also announced her exit with some not-so subtle shade.
“I’d hoped that we’d have more time. It’s been hard on me that our time was cut short. I have loved my job,” the TV star said on her Instagram.
“It has been a joy to connect with my coworkers and with viewers to help keep you informed and entertained and to create this community.
“So, it really breaks my heart that I don’t get to say goodbye. I’m so sorry that I don’t get to say goodbye. It would have been fun.”
