The Texas Oil War Escalates: Everything We Know About The High-Stakes Return of ‘Landman’!

The latest news on Landman Season 3 points to a slightly longer wait than fans initially hoped, but production is moving forward.

While Paramount+ has not locked down a specific premiere date yet, the primary cause for the shifting timeline is a delay in filming. The first two seasons established a tight annual rhythm, dropping in November 2024 and November 2025 respectively. However, star Billy Bob Thornton recently revealed on Howie Mandel’s podcast that the cameras won’t start rolling for Season 3 until the end of August 2026 (a pushback from the earlier planned spring/summer shoot).

Because a typical production and post-production cycle for Taylor Sheridan’s crew takes several months, an early 2027 release window looks highly probable. That said, Taylor Sheridan is notorious for fast turnarounds, so a late December 2026 premiere isn’t entirely off the table if the editing team works in hyperdrive.

The silver lining? The scripts are getting plenty of breathing room, and the early greenlight means the M-Tex Oil crew is fully locked in and ready to head back to West Texas as soon as late summer hits.
