England’s WAGs celebrated with the rest of the country as the Three Lions scraped a 2-1 victory over DR Congo, thanks to two second-half goals from captain Harry Kane
England WAGs celebrated as the Three Lions beat Democratic Republic of Congo at the World Cup, sending the team through to the last 16. The victory was led by captain Harry Kane, who scored two second-half goals, including a header in the 75th minute, after being 1-0 down for the majority of the game.
With fans celebrating at home, and thousands more singing Oasis inside the Atlanta Stadium at the full time whistle, the players’ WAGs and families were also taking in the win.
Among the crowd was Harry Kane’s wife Kate and their four children, with one of their son’s seen holding up a sign. Kate looked stylish in a Toteme grey co-ord and she looked ever the proud wife as she carried the ‘Go Daddy’ signs, as well as a giant picture of Harry’s head. After the match, Harry was seen reuniting with his family in the stands and sharing a kiss with Kate.
Anthony Gordon was also seen kissing girlfriend Annie Keating following the victory, while Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka joined his partner of six years Tolami Benson in the stands. Jude Bellingham was seen hugging girlfriend Ashlyn Castro, who stunned in a black halter-neck top and jeans.
Jordan Pickford’s wife, Megan Davison also supported the team and donned an England goalkeeper’s jersey in honour of her husband’s number one spot, which she paired with white trousers. At one point during the tense match, Megan was seen looking stressed and holding her hands to her face.
After DR Congo took a surprise lead in the seventh minute thanks to Brian Cipenga, England looked to be heading for an early exit, before Harry scored two goals to secure the win.
England will now face co-hosts Mexico on Monday 6 July at the Mexico City Stadium. The game will play out in the early hours of Monday morning, with the WAGS once again set to follow their boys.
Sir Keir Starmer, Sir David Beckham and Harry Styles were other famous faces who celebrated the victory as former England captain David, shared a photograph of Kane on his Instagram story and said: “Wow we needed our captain tonight.” He also praised the team for being “absolutely brilliant” and described Kane as a “true leader”. He also shared a photograph of Kane and Bellingham celebrating with the caption “Brilliant performance from our captain”.
Keir Starmer shared a photograph of Kane with the caption: “It might actually be coming home.” While Harry Styles played the start of the match on the big screens at Wembley stadium for fans ahead of his 10th night at the arena. He was seen on the floor of the stadium jumping around and cheering following Kane’s first goal.
While it was a tense match, the WAGs have been enjoying their time stateside. After the team beat Panama 2-0 in a rain-soaked New York, the wives and girlfriends celebrated in style.
Bukayo Saka’s fiancée, Tolami Benson, had posted a number of snaps from around New York in the build-up, including a visit to Central Park as she soaked up the sights before match day. Megan also documented a family day out with her and Jordan’s young son, Arlo. In a TikTok video, the pair were seen enjoying a meal together before seeing a performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway.
It’s said the ladies also glammed up and sipped $30 cocktails at the ultra trendy French themed Maison Close venue from 10pm until the joint shut at 2am prior to the match.
