Josie Gibson has received a wave of support after sharing a confident new update with her followers.
The This Morning presenter appeared in a cheerful social media video wearing a selection of summer dresses, giving fans a look at the results of surgery she previously underwent after being diagnosed with lipoedema.
Rather than presenting the moment as a dramatic transformation, Josie kept the tone simple and upbeat, writing that she was showing off her “new arms”. The post quickly drew warm responses from followers, many of whom focused on how happy, elegant and self-assured she looked.
Josie has spoken openly about lipoedema, a long-term condition that can cause painful fat build-up, often around the legs and arms. She has explained that the issue was not something she could resolve through diet and exercise alone, and that surgery became an option after years of discomfort.
Earlier in her journey, Josie underwent liposuction on her calves before later having a brachioplasty on her upper arms. She has said that surgery was not something she had originally wanted, but she eventually felt it was the most realistic route to easing the pain and physical challenges she had been facing.
Recovery, however, was not easy. Josie has admitted that the healing process was more demanding than she expected, leaving her largely at home for several weeks and making even ordinary daily tasks difficult.
She has also been keen to make clear that the procedures were not about chasing a slimmer figure. After seeing speculation online about her appearance, Josie chose to explain her diagnosis so that people could better understand the medical reality behind her decision.
For Josie, speaking publicly also seems to be about helping others. She has said that learning more about lipoedema gave her relief, because it helped her understand that the condition was not caused by a lack of effort or self-control.
Her honesty may offer comfort to other women who have experienced similar symptoms but felt confused or blamed themselves. By sharing her story, Josie has helped bring more attention to a condition that many people still know little about.
Away from her health journey, Josie’s name has also been linked with the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing. No official announcement has been made, but reports have suggested that producers may be interested in bringing her warmth and humour to the ballroom.
For now, her latest update appears to be less about glamour and more about confidence, recovery and feeling more comfortable in herself.
