Angie Best Shares Brave Health Update as She Prepares for Major Surgery

Angie Best has shared an honest new health update as she prepares to undergo major surgery.

The 73-year-old, who revealed earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with colon cancer, told followers that doctors are planning to remove the affected part of her colon.

Speaking candidly on social media, Angie admitted that the upcoming procedure feels nerve-racking, but said she is trying to focus on moving forward one step at a time.

She also reflected on how demanding treatment can be emotionally as well as physically, while encouraging others on a similar journey to remain strong and focused.

Her update comes after months of chemotherapy, during which she has spoken openly about side effects including hair loss, changes in her weight and the mental strain of treatment.

Angie previously said her oncologist had told her that her treatment had produced a strong response. Although she had hoped to hear that the cancer was completely gone, she continued with further treatment before preparing for surgery.

Throughout the process, she has kept followers updated with a mixture of honesty, humour and determination.

Her son Calum Best has also publicly shown his support, previously speaking about the emotional impact of his mother’s diagnosis and expressing his love for her.

Angie has additionally discussed receiving mistletoe therapy alongside conventional treatment. This type of complementary therapy is used by some patients in parts of Europe, although it is not a standard NHS cancer treatment and evidence of its effectiveness as a cancer treatment remains uncertain.

Now, as she prepares for surgery, Angie appears focused on reaching the next stage of recovery.

Her latest message was not only about the difficulty of the journey, but also about resilience, hope and supporting others who may be going through something similar.
