Peter Andre and Emily MacDonagh were on the guest list for one of the most talked-about charity events of the summer – along with the charity’s Patron, Prince Harry. The couple were invited to the annual WellChild Awards on Monday, 8 September at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, where they chatted with the Duke of Sussex and some of the “incredible” families being celebrated.
The popstar, 52, reveals their exchange in his exclusive OK! column this week, and explains why he wants to do more with the worthy cause. He also catches us up on a very special family visit, and why he’s especially proud of his eldest daughter, Princess Andre after her big win this week.

I was very happy to see Junior and Princess attending the National Television Awards. Although Bista’s make-up artist and stylist were at our home from morning until late afternoon. They were lovely but I remember thinking, “Only a Princess would have all this fuss over them.” Joking aside, I love that J and P can do these things together. They looked great, and definitely better that Dad wasn’t cramping their style on the red carpet!

We had an incredible night at the WellChild Awards meeting some incredible children and their families. It was great to meet with the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, who is a huge part of the charity. It was the first time Emily had met him, and I’d forgotten how well-spoken he is.
We mainly talked about the charity of course and him flying in from America earlier that morning. Emily and I learned a lot more about the charity’s work and we’re actually very keen to get more involved because of the invaluable work they do.
Our grand day out
My sister Debbie and her husband Joe have been visiting from Australia. Debbie hasn’t been here for 10 years so it was really special.
She was so excited to meet Belle for the first time, and of course spend time with all the kids. One of her highlights was us all going to Hampton Court Palace together. Debbie watched Bridgerton and wanted to see where it was filmed. Emily is a fan too and knows about the history of the place. We had a lovely time.
A winning night
I’m very proud of Princess (pictured with Love Island’s Liberty and Dejon) winning an award at the Superdrug Star Awards. Go on, daughter! She definitely didn’t expect it and was clearly very happy when she won. Glad to see her working with such a good brand. Emily was also invited to the event with Dr Raj. They are very good friends so had a great time. I, though, was on dad duties and was in bed by 10.

So Beyoncé and Jay-Z are supposed to be building a house in the Cotswolds. I can honestly understand why people move to this side of the world.
Yes, we often complain about the weather etc, but we have such a beautiful country. We are on the doorstep of Europe and let’s not forget our incredible history. Would I want to be their neighbours? I think the question is, would they want anyone as neighbours? Well, hopefully they will settle in well. I’m sure they will love it.
