Celebrated chef Gordon Ramsay has revealed that he has undergone treatment to remove skin cancer. The 58 year old, known for his hit shows Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen, took to Instagram to share the news that he had an operation to remove cancer from the side of his face.
He shared pictures of his bandaged face and sent out a message to his followers, stating: “Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma, thank you! Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend [red heart emoji] I promise you it’s not a face lift! I’d need a refund.”

Gordon’s post was flooded with friends, fans and fellow celebrities wishing him a speedy recovery, reports the Mirror. One person wrote: “Get well soon, dear chef,” while another commented: “Well done you for getting a skin check! Something we should all be lining up for.”
Others left him heart emojis and messages such as: “So glad you’re sorted! Speedy recovery chef, “Glad you’re okay,” and “Good job for making people aware of things like this.”
Another person added: “So important to share things like this, slap on a hat, suncream and seek shade, happy healing. Well done to the amazing people who work in healthcare who do amazing work like this.”
A reply to the post from charity Cancer Research UK read: “Glad to hear you’re doing well, Gordon, and thanks for raising awareness of how important it is to stay safe in the sun. Seek shade, cover up, and apply sunscreen regularly and generously.”

The NHS says basal cell carcinoma is a non-melanoma form of skin cancer, which starts in the top layer of skin and is mainly caused by ultraviolet light which comes from the sun and is used in sunbeds.
It says the main symptom of the condition is a growth or unusual patch on the skin, which can vary in size and appearance, most common in areas including the head, neck and shoulders, back, hands and lower legs.
Gordon has six children with his wife Tana, including Tilly, who has built her own career as a TV presenter and appeared on the 19th series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2021.
He is also known for appearing in ITV’s Gordon, Gino And Fred road trip series, in which he travels with fellow chef Gino D’Acampo and First Dates maitre d’hotel Fred Sirieix.
The chef also runs Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, whose venues have received 17 Michelin stars overall, and currently boast eight.
