Ruth Langsford has reportedly been left “stunned and deeply hurt” after learning that her estranged husband Eamonn Holmes has taken a major step forward with his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander — who has now moved in to support him through his upcoming surgery.

Sources say the Loose Women presenter is desperate to see her divorce finalised so she can finally close this painful chapter and “find her own happy ending.”

“Ruth just wants it over and done with,” an insider told Closer. “The news hit her like a stab in the back. It’s been dragging on for too long — she just wants to move on and be happy again.”

Eamonn, 65, who announced his split from Ruth last year after 27 years together and 14 years of marriage, has faced a long and difficult health battle. He previously underwent spinal surgery in 2022, followed by a shoulder operation months later after a nasty fall down the stairs.

Now, as he prepares for yet another operation, Katie, 43, is said to be stepping in as his full-time support.

“Eamonn is fully reliant on Katie,” another source explained. “She’s helping him with everything — even getting out of bed. He really depends on her during this recovery.”
