Pete Wicks, star of the reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), has confirmed his departure from the show after seven years to pursue new television projects.
In a statement on Instagram, Pete shared that he felt it was the right time to move on to the next chapter of his career. He expressed gratitude to the production team and the audience for their support throughout his time on the show. Pete also revealed that he has several new projects lined up and expects to have a busy year ahead.
Additionally, Pete mentioned that he and his close friend Sam Thompson are interested in joining Celebrity Race Across The World. He jokingly stated that if they participated, he might have to “ditch” Sam somewhere along the journey.
Pete’s decision to leave TOWIE comes after other cast members, such as Chloe Sims and her sisters, also exited the show. However, he emphasized that TOWIE will always feel like family to him, and he may make appearances on the show in the future when the timing is right.
