Brooklyn Beckham has come under fire by social media users after his younger brother Cruz claimed the whole family had been blocked by the wannabe chef on social media
Brooklyn Beckham has been criticised for being “disrespectful” to his family. The influencer and wannabe chef has found himself estranged from the entire Beckham family in recent years, and their relationship shows no signs of improvement.
Last weekend, it emerged that his parents, Lady Victoria and Sir David Beckham, had unfollowed the 26-year-old on Instagram. However, it was later confirmed that the truth was far worse. Cruz Beckham, 20, took to his own page and claimed the entire family had been blocked on Instagram.
Now, Brooklyn has shared that he is “kinda busy”. On his TikTok page for his latest business venture, Cloud 23 sauce, he was seen walking down the street as Lady Gaga’s mega-hit “Telephone” played over the clip.
While the song has dozens of parts that Brooklyn could have chosen, he chose the segment featuring the lyrics: “Sorry, I cannot hear you, I’m kinda busy.” The lyrics were also highlighted on the video, which was shared with the account’s 9313 followers.
But the comment section instantly saw social media users criticising Brooklyn due to his ongoing feud with his family. “There would be no Brooklyn Beckham without the Beckham empire. Fact,” said one.
A second went on to add: “Blocking your parents is not okay it’s rude and disrespectful after all they’ve done for you?” “He is cool but he too can be regretting blocking his Dad and Mum,” said another. Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “You only get one mum and one dad, as you get older you realise this, time is precious.”
A fifth fan said: “Days pass quickly then the years and before you know it the parents are gone and you’ve wasted time. Then you will regret because you can’t buy it back, your siblings won’t want to know you.”
Last weekend, Brooklyn shared a video on his Instagram page, roasting a beer-brined chicken and making mashed potatoes. Victoria had liked the post, but just days later, he had blocked his family. Reflecting on the reports that the family had unfollowed Brooklyn, Cruz said: “NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.”
Now, though, the Peltz-Beckham family are said to be hoping that the Beckhams will “leave them alone”. A source told the Daily Mail: “The Beckhams started these ‘blocking’ game stories earlier this year and they keep going. Whether someone follows someone else on Insta or any other platform shouldn’t be and isn’t a story. It’s a sad situation, but nothing has changed here.”
The source claimed that by Cruz speaking out on the alleged social media blocking, it is driving Brooklyn “further away” from his family. However, a source said to be close to David and Victoria has dismissed this, saying the family will never stop loving him. They added: “They will always be here for him, and they always want him to know that. They are devastated at this fallout.
“So far from this being them, it appears that Brooklyn has blocked them to show them that’s it, this is final.” The source went on to tell the publication that following Brooklyn on social media was “their last connection”.
PR expert Mayah Riaz claims that Brooklyn and Nicola’s move is designed to “silence” their relatives. Mayah told the Mirror: “That is narrative shaping. It positions Brooklyn and Nicola not just as hurt, but as victims of something darker and more deliberate. That is a very specific PR choice.
“The hidden spin is victimhood with credibility. By framing themselves as being gaslit, they are attempting to flip the power dynamic. The message is not ‘we are silent’, it is ‘we are justified in our silence’. This type of briefing exists to explain why they are not engaging directly. It gives them moral high ground without them having to speak themselves.”
Brooklyn and Nicola were last photographed with his parents on Boxing Day last year. Victoria shared a snap on social media of David alongside their three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, as well as daughter Harper, 14, and Nicola. “Being together for the holidays makes me so happy,” she said at the time.
