Jenny Agutter is facing a deeply personal loss following the death of her husband, Johan Tham, who passed away aged 81 after a battle with cancer. In 1984, Johan became its managing director, overseeing its restoration and transformation into one of the country’s most prestigious hotels. Under his stewardship, Cliveden reclaimed its status as a world-class destination, before being sold in 2011 to property developers Ian and Richard Livingston.
Earlier, in 1978, Johan had co-founded Blakeney Hotels with businessman John Lewis, further cementing his reputation as a visionary within the hospitality industry.
