A wave of viewer reactions has erupted online after the latest episode of This Morning aired on Monday, May 5. Fans are now demanding a major shake-up—urging ITV to replace current hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley with Rylan Clark and Emma Willis, who returned today for a special episode and quickly won audiences over.
Rylan and Emma were back on hosting duties today, and by all accounts, they struck a major chord with viewers.
📺 Rylan and Emma Host Special Episode of This Morning

Today’s episode saw Rylan and Emma step in to take over from Ben and Cat. It’s not their first time hosting the show together—they previously appeared as a duo in December 2023, just before Ben and Cat officially took on the main presenting roles.
What made today’s show even more special was its unique setting. Rather than being filmed inside the usual studio, it was broadcast live from a VE Day Street Party to mark the start of a four-day celebration across the UK, commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
“It’s going to be a good day,” Emma enthusiastically declared on-air.
Joining them were celebrity guests including Gyles Brandreth and Eva Speakman, while Craig Doyle reported live from The Mall, covering the celebratory parade and flypast.
🔁 Viewers Call for Permanent Swap
Following the episode, social media lit up with fan reactions. The consensus? Many viewers want Emma and Rylan to become permanent hosts—and fast.
“Make Rylan and Emma permanent… they are a perfect combo for #ThisMorning. Remove Ben and Cat asap,” one viewer posted.
Another echoed the sentiment: “Much prefer these two [Rylan and Emma]. No shouty, laughy woman. No wooden male.”

A third chimed in with a direct appeal to ITV: “Dear @ThisMorning, please please can we have Rylan and Emma full time?? The presenters you use normally are awful, especially Cat. You must be losing viewers in their masses. Rylan and Emma are fantastic. Not noisy. Not idiots. And let people speak.”
More comments poured in praising Rylan’s effortless style: “Rylan is so switched on and has just the right personality for this job. And no annoying traits. I think he should be the permanent presenter.”
“Rylan and Emma need to be made permanent. Replace Ben and Cat!!!” said another.
🤰 Sian Welby Opens Up About Pregnancy Anxiety
In a separate story, This Morning presenter Sian Welby revealed she had once feared being dropped from the show after finding out she was pregnant.
Speaking on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast last week, Sian admitted: “When you first start a job, you think, ‘Nobody knows what I’m actually like, that I’m trustworthy,’ and you have to prove yourself. I felt like I had proven myself [on This Morning]… but I knew I was pregnant and didn’t tell anyone yet.”
She continued: “In the back of my mind, I was thinking, ‘If I tell them I’m pregnant, will this put them off bringing me in again?’ It’s a fear so many women have in new jobs—that they’ll be judged, replaced, or asked why they didn’t speak up sooner.”
Luckily, Sian’s fears didn’t materialise. She has continued to appear regularly on the show, even after giving birth last month.
