Jesy Nelson has issued a heartfelt update from her hospital bed, where she has been staying for over a month after undergoing emergency surgery in March to save the lives of her unborn twins.
The 33-year-old singer is expecting twins with her boyfriend, Zion Foster, whom she began dating in 2022.
Jesy Nelson’s Dangerous Pregnancy Complications Revealed
At the beginning of March, Jesy shared with fans that her pregnancy had taken a worrying turn due to a rare condition.
“The type of twins we’re having are called mono/di twins,” she explained. “Normally, most twins have two placentas, but when you have mono/di twins, they share one placenta. That can lead to serious complications – one of them being that one baby might take all the nutrients, and it’s awful to say, but it could lead to both babies dying.”
The former Little Mix star added, “I’m currently pre-stage TTTS, which is twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. I’m being monitored very closely and have to go for scans twice a week.”
Just days after revealing this, Jesy underwent a critical operation. Thankfully, the surgery was successful.
Jesy Shares Candid Moment From Hospital – And Needs Fans’ Help!
In a new TikTok video filmed from her hospital bed, Jesy opened up about her post-hospital plans – starting with something surprisingly relatable.
“When I come out of hospital, the first thing I wanna do is dye my barnet,” she said with a smile. “First of all – gotta get those greys out for the lads!” she joked, zooming in on some grey hairs.
“Second of all, I feel like I’ve been this colour for too long. It’s not even ginger anymore, just a kind of washed-out auburn,” she added.
“Zion wants me to go browny-blonde… but I honestly don’t know what suits me anymore. I need your help – what hair colour do you think looks best on me?” she asked her fans.
While many followers seem to love the idea of her going blonde, Jesy revealed she’s not allowed to dye her hair just yet – so fans will have to wait and see.
Zion Opens Up: “We Didn’t Think We’d Make It This Far”
In a recent emotional interview with The Mirror, Jesy’s partner Zion Foster opened up about their rollercoaster journey.
“They’re giving us so much hope that they’re going to come out healthy,” he said. “Jesy and the twins have been through so much. There were so many times we didn’t think we’d get to where we are now.”
Zion described their unborn twins as “strong” and “brave,” and said both he and Jesy already feel connected to them through the challenges they’ve faced.
“The hardest moment was definitely the operation. But now that we’ve made it through that, every day just gets better,” he added.
