The View guest cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck has delivered an impassioned condemnation of fellow conservative commentator Megyn Kelly‘s recent comments about American soldiers killed in President Donald Trump’s recent attack on Iran.
On day two of her week-long gig back at The View‘s Hot Topics table, Hasselbeck — who was a permanent View panelist from 2003-2013 — criticized Kelly for comments the latter made about the fallen service members.
“How dare you, Megyn Kelly. How dare you tell a military person who’s sacrificed their lives for our nation, in our uniform, when they were sacrificing their lives in our uniform, how dare you tell them or their families or our nation what they died for,” the 48-year-old Survivor alum said, looking straight into The View‘s live camera to deliver part of her message.

Earlier, The View played a clip of the former Fox News personality saying she thinks the soldiers killed in the Middle East “died for Iran or for Israel,” and not the United States.
Panelist Joy Behar — whom Hasselbeck also publicly criticized in January 2025 — warned her colleague, “You better be careful, she’ll come right back at you. She’s like a roller derby queen!”
Without missing a beat, Hasselbeck repeated twice, “I’m not afraid of her,” before continuing with her point.

“But, my heart, with my friends in the military, you do not get to authorize who they died for,” she said. “I come here, I may vote Republican and I’m a conservative, but I’m a thinking woman, and I have a heart with this war — or, military attack.”
Hasselbeck’s two-day stint back at The View has made numerous headlines, including on Monday’s episode when current cohost Sunny Hostin called the TV star out for voting for Trump in the presidential election.
“I thought this was going to be the president of peace. I thought this president wanted to win a Nobel Peace Prize for peace. That is not what I’m seeing,” Hostin said on the air amid a wider discussion about the Iran attack. “I’m not seeing ‘America First.’ I think people that voted for Trump — I was not one of them, I think you were — those people wanted ‘America First.'”

The audience gasped at Hostin calling out Hasselbeck in the moment, with the latter then smiling at the dig before replying: “I proudly voted for Trump because the alternative was not great, and we’d absolutely be under the wrong power if the alternative [was elected].”
Hostin asserted earlier in the show that, “The bottom line is this is an illegal war, this is an unconstitutional war, only Congress can wage war and declare war. That’s the first thing,” additionally alleging, “This is an illegal war, this is a presidential war.”
A White House official declined to comment on the record to Entertainment Weekly at the time.
The View airs weekdays on ABC.
