In a heartfelt interview, Jane McDonald has bravely shared her ongoing battle with grief after the tragic loss of her partner, Eddie Rothe, in 2021. The former Loose Women star opened up about how the passing of Eddie, her long-time love and partner of many years, has shaped her emotional journey.
“It’s not easy. It never leaves you. Time isn’t a healer for me,” Jane said, admitting that grief isn’t something that fades with time. Despite this, she has chosen to fill her life with as much joy as possible to coexist with the sadness. “That’s how I deal with it,” she added.
The couple’s story was one of love rekindled after decades apart, having first dated as teenagers before reuniting later in life. Their engagement in 2008 marked a beautiful chapter, but they never married before Eddie’s passing.
Grief and Growth: The Journey of Healing
Jane shared that the pain of losing Eddie has profoundly impacted her, but she remains focused on living life fully despite the deep emotional toll. She acknowledged the power of staying busy and focusing on family and friends as part of the healing process. “I’m on a mission to live my life to the full, and that’s my advice to everyone: don’t wait. Don’t wait for any experiences, just do it,” Jane said, emphasizing the importance of embracing life.
