Things are moving fast on Grown Ups 3, with filming set to begin on July 6, 2026! The majority of the Grown Ups cast is either expected or already set to reprise their roles as they head out on a European adventure. Here’s the latest on what we know about Grown Ups 3 on Netflix!
It’s been 12 years since Adam Sandler first inked his historic partnership with Netflix, and in that time, the beloved comedian has starred in and produced over a dozen different Netflix films and comedy specials, including two fantastic Murder Mystery films, and the long-awaited sequel to Happy Gilmore.
Speaking of sequels, Sandler is returning to the Happy Madison Productions library to revive Grown Ups, as first announced at the Netflix Upfronts, thirteen years after the last film, Grown Ups 2, was in theatres. The film will be directed by Kyle Newacheck, who previously directed the first Murder Mystery film starring Sandler and Jennifer Aniston and, more recently, Happy Gilmore 2.

Sandler is confirmed to have written the script with Tim Herlihy, who has worked on over a dozen projects with Sandler since 1995. Happy Madison Productions will produce the film, with Judit Maull and Kevin Grady as executive producers. Meanwhile, Adam Sandler, Jackie Sandler, Judit Maull, Tim Herlihy, and Jack Giarraputo are producing.
What is the plot of Grown Ups 3?
Thanks to Production Weekly, we have our first look at the synopsis of Grown Ups 3:
“The Grown Ups franchise revolves around a set of childhood friends who are brought back together as adults over the course of a summer vacation. The threequel picks up with Lenny (Sandler), Marcus (Spade), Rob (Schneider), Kurt (Rock), Eric (James), and their significant others after the death of a close friend, as they travel to Europe to spread his ashes and prove that they can still be fun – even in their sixties.”

All of the lead cast members from the previous Grown Ups films are attached to reprise their roles from previous films:

Adam Sandler and Happy Madison Productions are known for frequently collaborating with actors and actresses from previous projects, so we would expect several Happy Madison alumni to appear in the third film.
What is the production status of Grown Ups 3?
Multiple production listings indicate that filming is set to begin on July 6, 2026, and is scheduled to run for three months, ending by October 14, 2026. Several filming locations have been listed for the shoot, including New Jersey and Boston in the US, as well as the countries of Italy and France , which makes sense given the synopsis provided above.
Specific cities and regions for filming in Italy and France have yet to be revealed, and it has not been announced whether additional countries across Europe will also be used for filming.

When will Grown Ups 3 be on Netflix?
At the time of writing, there is no release date or release window announced for Grown Ups 3. However, we expect the film to be released on Netflix sometime in the summer of 2027.
Given the film schedule and the plot set around summer vacation, it makes perfect sense for a big summer release.
