I’M A Celebrity star Alex Scott has admitted being apart from her pop star girlfriend Jess Glynne will be a “test”.
The Football Focus presenter’s time in the I’m a Celebrity jungle will be the longest period she has been apart from Jess, 36, since they began dating in 2023.
Speaking about what she will miss most about her partner, former Lioness Alex, 41, said: “Her cooking pasta for me is absolutely everything.
“Those quiet moments when your life’s 100mph, just coming home… she loves to cook, and we love to sit and have a glass of wine, I’ll most probably be watching football in the background.
“I’m definitely going to miss that, especially when I’m so hungry.
“Most probably all I’m going to be thinking about is, ‘Please, can I just have Jessica’s pasta right now?’
“It’s a test for both of us.”
She added: “I know she’s at home and she’s going to be my biggest cheerleader supporting me.
“She really wanted me to do this because she knew that I wanted to test myself.
“It is going to be a challenge for us both being separated. But I suppose that’s what makes the heart grow fonder, right?”
Alex also said she has now put her “armour up” to protect herself after being affected by public perception of her.
She also suggested that wanting to protect her relationship with Jess may be another factor.
Alex said this might stop her opening up to campmates while on the ITV show.
She said: “I think I’ve managed to let it (my guard) down over the years. Obviously, I wrote my book and revealed a lot of personal stuff.
“But I do think over the last couple of years, I feel like my armour’s come back up again. It’s like a form of protection.
“I don’t know whether that’s work and what goes on around me and how people maybe perceive me.
“And maybe, I suppose, my relationship with Jess.
“From the start, we were very guarded and private with that because we wanted to just get to know each other and let what it was blossom and us figure out ourselves before it was out there for the world.
“So I suppose, naturally, that guard has just come up again because you want to protect either the loved ones around you, and not let anything come and penetrate that and destroy that.
“I think because you want to just keep it so special.”
She added of their relationship: “I feel like what they (the public) have seen, whether it’s on our social media or anything, it’s just two people that are genuinely so in love and just care for each other and want each other both to just thrive and do the best in life.”
