THE VIEWâS Alyssa Farah Griffith revealed her two-month-old baby son, Justin, is recovering from major surgery in the ICU.
In an emotional revelation, Alyssa opened up in The Viewâs podcast about her sonâs âmajor operationâ this past weekend.
In a clip of the podcast, shared with People, Alyssa said, âMy son ended up needing a major operation.
âIâm actually not going to get into the details only because I will just turn into a puddle talking about it, but he had to get a surgery this weekend.â
âSo we spent the weekend in the ICU with him,â she said of her weekend with her husband Justin Griffith.
Despite the extremely difficult time, Alyssa co-hosted The View on Monday as usual.
While Alyssa didnât get into specifics, she revealed her son is recovering excellently.
âIt went beyond well. The doctor said heâs doing even better than expected, hitting every milestone.
âHeâs going to be great. Heâll never know in his life other than that we told him that he had this,â she said, adding, âThereâll never be signs or anything.â
She added, âHeâs better, literally less than 24 hours, 12 hours after the surgery,â she said.
âHeâs smiling, flirting with the nurses. Heâs totally his fatherâs son.â
Alyssa returned to work on April 13th after giving birth on February 10th.
The 36-year-old co-host got emotional upon her return as she thanked her husband, Justin, along with her nanny and night nurse for their support during those first few weeks of motherhood.
Alyssa told the group how much she missed them and joked that while she feels a bit like a shell of her former self, little Justin is the most magical addition to her life.
She mentioned how other moms warned her that her brain chemistry would change instantly, and she definitely feels that shift now that her world revolves around him.
While she was on maternity leave, Alyssa said she tuned in every single day.
She joked that the show is actually even better to watch from the couch than it is to film in person.
After the warm greetings and life updates, the ladies got right back to business and started diving into the daily political headlines.
During her two months away, a rotating cast of guests including Savannah Chrisley, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Whitney Cummings stepped in to fill her spot.
