Fans donned multiple generations of England kits as they streamed out of the AT&T Stadium, with some plunging into fountains as they soaked up the glory.

Choruses of “It’s Coming Home” and “Sweet Caroline” rang out as Brits poured into boozers and partied through the afternoon and into the night.

Iconic songs such as Robbie Williams’ “Angels” were also heard by the buoyant fans.

And they won’t be going thirsty after bars stocked up on triple the amount of beer in preparation for revellers’ post-match thirst.

Thousands of England fans watched the game on 100ft screens at fan zones across Texas due to the eye-watering cost of match tickets.

Make-shift arenas were festooned with flags as supporters revelled in the big match atmosphere.

Hundreds of supporters had packed into pubs ahead of the game and stayed out till late, stunning Americans with their rowdy spirit.

Many had only travelled out earlier in the day with the final direct flight from Heathrow to Dallas leaving at 4.25pm on Tuesday.

The flight was sold out with most being loyal fans on the eight-hour journey, desperate to get on with their holiday and footie fun.

Plenty flocked to The Londoner, where pre-match boozing really ramped up.

England fans were on tenterhooks inside the “Palace in Dallas” during a nervy first-half display.

They experienced euphoria when Harry Kane secured a goal 11 minutes in after Croatia talisman Luka Modric gave away a penalty.

He was forced to retake the spot kick after the keeper came off his line – met by panicked gasps.

But after Kane netted it the second time around, England was pegged back by Como star Baturina.

The goal temporarily deflated the stadium and left Jordan Pickford – and the whole country – rattled.

But England fans roared once more just six minutes later as Ballon d’Or favourite Kane made history as he headed in his second of the game.

The stadium was stunned into silence for a second time as Petar Musa netted an equaliser with the last kick of the first-half.

Seconds after the break, midfielder Jude Bellingham stepped up and netted a third goal for England.

Man Utd star Marcus Rashford, who is currently in limbo over where he’ll play next season, came off the bench to score the fourth.

The win will give even the most pessimistic of fans a slight glimmer of hope after a heartbreaking few years for the Three Lions.

Back on home soil in the UK the nation came together as one to roar their support.

Beers were launched into the air across fan zones after the goalfest as supporters dared to dream it could come home after an agonising 60 years.

The team has come within touching distance of glory a staggering three times.

Our last World Cup campaign in 2022 saw the Three Lions reach the quarter-finals in Qatar.

With Gareth Southgate gone, supporters’ hopes are now pinned on a German manager to bring England to victory.

England next plays Ghana in Foxborough, Massachusetts, in Group L on Tuesday, the same day Croatia plays Panama in Toronto.

Tuchel will be sweating on the fitness of stars Declan Rice and captain Kane.

He was forced to take the midfielder off during the match – something he admitted he would not normally do.

Kane was spotted with a strapping on his leg after the full-time whistle despite playing the full match.

The striker will be desperate to be fit enough to play as he drew level with Gary Lineker’s record of ten tournament goals for England against Croatia.
