The same-sex couple, who were widely regarded as fan-favourites on the E4 reality show, fell apart following final vows after Davide found Keye on gay dating app Grindr while the pair were still together.
But following their shock split, Keye has admitted that he wants Davide back, and spilled details around their break up as he appeared on a popular podcast.
The marketing manager, 33, was speaking on the Avoiding My Anxiously Attached Boyfriend podcast when he made the shock revelations.
When asked about the scandal, he joked: “I was already rinsing through my savings, it’s Grindr, we all know you can get things for free if you’re pretty.”
But as the conversation continued, he delved deeper into details of their split, which Davide initiated while he was abroad in the States.
He admitted: “He was in a different country at the time, I think he was flying to Atlanta.
“So he dumped me over text, because obviously that’s all we had, and then he blocked me on everything. So there was no coming back.”
“Obviously it was a five month period from breaking up to this point now.
“Between then there’s been period’s he’s unblocked, there’s been periods where we tried to chat and it just wasn’t going anywhere.
“I think once the trust is broken – the trust is broken.”
He accepted his fault in the situation, but explained that he doesn’t feel there’s any way back.
Keye even admitted that he’d written a four page letter explaining his error, but added that despite his explanation being accepted, “it still doesn’t bring the trust back”.
He added: “I’m not going to pretend if he didn’t knock on the door and asked for me back now I wouldn’t be going back”.
His admissions follow Davide’s exclusive interview with The Sun where he shared his side of the story.
“I don’t know if he actually slept with somebody or not. He says that he hasn’t, but after that, for me there was no more trust – I just couldn’t see past it, ” Davide told us.
“I’m not saying that he cheated. What I’m saying is he broke my trust. And once you break it like a glass, even if you fix it, it will always leak.”
Davide claims he caught Keye out by setting up his own Grindr profile to see if his then-husband was online.
“We were struggling as a couple after the experiment,” he admitted. “It was difficult to manage the normal world. I was travelling a lot in my job as a flight attendant, and there was a lot to navigate”
“On the night I found him on the app, I I had the feeling something was wrong. I was abroad, and he wasn’t answering my calls, he wasn’t messaging me, but he was posting on social media. Hence why I was like, something is not right here.
“I’ve been in this situation prior in the past, so I had to check. And when I found him [on Grindr] that was it. There was so much hurt on my end that I just couldn’t overcome.”
Their split took MAFS fans by shock, as the couple appeared to be one of the strongest on this year’s instalment.
Keye admitted in a statement: “I downloaded Grindr in the early hours of a Sunday morning while Davide was on a flight. I wasn’t there looking to cheat, hook up, or find anyone else.
“I was in a really dark place back then, and I turned to something unhealthy because I didn’t know how to cope.
“It had nothing to do with wanting someone else, it was about trying to numb myself and escape what I was feeling.”
Keye continued: “I know how it looked, and I know it broke trust.
“Even if my intentions weren’t sexual, I still crossed a line. I hate that Davide thought I was out there looking for someone else, because that was never what I was doing.
“I was just lost, and I made a terrible decision. Davide found me with his profile and it cost me my marriage.”
