The BBC has announced This City Is Ours will return for a second season. The Liverpool set crime drama stars James Nelson-Joyce as Michael Kavanagh, a gangster trying to keep his criminal enterprise together as he falls in love for the first time.
The show has been a hit with fans since the first series premiered on March 23. All eight episodes landed on iPlayer on this date and many viewers have already raced through to see how the saga plays out.
However, those who have been patient enough to follow it weekly will be able to watch the series one finale when it airs tonight on BBC One at 9pm. The series has been a huge success as it is the BBC’s most watched new drama launch of the year so far.
This City Is Ours has also been a critical success and many viewers have taken to social media throughout the run to say the show is so good that it needs to have a second season. Fans can rejoice as the BBC has today confirmed the show will be returning for a second instalment.
