A Coronation Street favourite has sparked concern amongst viewers who fear they may have departed the soap.
It’s undeniable that the ITV programme has experienced significant cast upheaval in recent months, with numerous departures already occurring in 2025. Max Turner (Paddy Bever) received a six-year prison sentence, whilst Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) met a shocking demise after 14 years on the show.
Additionally, soap icon Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) departed Weatherfield after a quarter-century, relocating thousands of miles away to Thailand.
Nevertheless, further transformations lie ahead, as soap chief Iain MacLeod recently confirmed that a cherished Weatherfield inhabitant will meet their end in the new year, forming part of the groundbreaking crossover with Emmerdale in early 2026, reports the Daily Star.

However, supporters now worry another performer might be departing after spotting a mysterious hint. Recently, Betsy Swain actress Sydney Martin revealed she will feature in a short film entitled Through The Eyes Of Bairns.
The production also features Emmerdale favourite Michelle Hardwick, renowned for portraying village veterinarian Vanessa Woodfield, in the principal role of Rose, whilst Sydney portrays the young adult incarnation of Rose.

The film’s official Instagram account shared the announcement earlier this month, stating: “Introducing the incredible Sydney Martin who’ll be playing the role of Young Adult Rose.
“During flashbacks, we’ll see how Rose came to be estranged from her father, Ivan, all those years ago. Rose has always been headstrong but as we watch her grow and discover who she is, Rose also uncovers the dark secret of who her father really is and just what horrors he’s capable of..”

Sharing the announcement on her Instagram Story, Sydney commented: “I’ll be playing a younger version of @missmichelleharwick – what a privilege! With the most loveliest team, how lucky am I!”.
Sydney’s admirers and fellow cast members were swift to offer their congratulations, though some supporters were quick to wonder whether this indicated the actress might be departing the soap.
One concerned viewer wrote: “Are you leaving Corrie I pray not you’re the only reason I keep watching.” Another added: “Does this mean not going to be in Corrie.” Sharing similar concerns, a third commented: “Does this mean she’s leaving Corrie?”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
