DIANNE BUSWELL GIVES BIRTH! WELCOMES BABY BOY WITH JOE SUGG 💙

Dianne Buswell has officially stepped into a brand-new chapter of her life, announcing the arrival of her first child with longtime partner Joe Sugg – and the emotional meaning behind their son’s name has already melted fans’ hearts.

The Strictly Come Dancing professional, who first met Joe during the 2018 series of the BBC show, revealed on Instagram that she had given birth to a baby boy on March 16. Alongside a series of intimate photos, including the moment she cradled her newborn and brought him home from hospital, Dianne shared his full name: Bowden Mark Richard Sugg.

In a deeply personal caption, she wrote: “Never felt a love like it. Baby Bowden Mark Richard Sugg. 16/03/26.”

The name carries a powerful tribute. “Mark” honours Dianne’s beloved father, while “Richard” remembers Joe’s late grandfather, who passed away in 2021 – turning their son’s name into a touching bridge between generations.

The announcement quickly sparked an outpouring of love from their Strictly family. Vicky Pattison gushed, “Omg!!!! Congratulations guys!!! He is perfect,” while Vito Coppola admitted he was overwhelmed with emotion, saying he was “crying for joy and happiness” and couldn’t wait to meet the baby. Dianne and Joe first shared their pregnancy news back in September with a creative and emotional video set to Elton John’s Tiny Dancer. In the clip, they unveiled a drawing of two stick figures – one with Dianne’s signature red hair – holding hands with a baby, confirming they were expecting a boy in 2026.

Their journey to parenthood has been anything but ordinary. Dianne made Strictly history by becoming the first professional dancer to compete while pregnant during the 2025 series. Despite intense speculation when she and her partner Stefan Dennis withdrew from the competition due to injury, she firmly shut down rumours that her pregnancy was the reason, insisting: she was “very capable and feeling really good.”

Behind the scenes, producers had reportedly prepared contingency plans to ensure her wellbeing while allowing the show to continue, highlighting the delicate balance between her career and impending motherhood.

In the months leading up to the birth, Dianne shared glimpses of her excitement, posting a heartfelt video in February showing tiny baby clothes, shoes and even a Strictly-themed onesie ready for their son. She captioned it simply: “When 2 will soon become 3… now we wait.”
