Christmas is set to be a dramatic and insightful time on EastEnders according to new spoilers. The BBC soap has revealed brand new teasers after some recent announcements about the festive period in Walford. As well as some big returns, there’s secrets revealed and some shocking moments ahead.
It was recently confirmed that in a storyline linked to Nigel Bates’ dementia diagnosis, we would see the comebacks of Albert Square legends Pat Butcher and Barry Evans. Former cast members Pam St Clement and Shaun Williamson are reprising their roles, while both characters were sadly killed off a while back now.
It seems there’s a return for Max Branning sooner than teased too, as he’s back in Walford before his twist-filled New Year’s Day flashfoward episode. There’s “ghosts of the past” threatening more than one character too it seems, with bombshells aplenty.

According to the new spoilers, they cover December and not just Christmas as we head towards the festive period. It’s said more than one resident will learn the consequences of their recent and past actions.
Visited by “the ghosts of their past” as well as “villains of the present and visions of the future”, who knows what is around the corner. While the visions may just apply to New Year, not confirmed, it’s safe to say more than one resident is likely hiding something.
Zoe Slater will face more harassment, but it leads to shocking discoveries for her mother Kat Moon. Whatever Kat finds out, as secrets are out in the open, will test her motherly love. So who is out to get Zoe and why? Why are they so desperate to get her out of Walford, “hellbent” as described by the show?
Perhaps we are finally set to find out who it is and what their motive is, and what Zoe has done to spark the torment. It certainly seems she might have done something given the spoiler suggests that while Kat remains fiercely protective of Zoe, the search for answers unlock some shocking things that have been hidden.

There’s also an emphasis on Zoe desperately trying to find her long-lost son. So will we finally find out what happened to him, and is it linked to her troubles in Walford?
Elsewhere, Max’s return sees him finally come face-to-face with Cindy Beale so how will that go down? That’s not all has he’s hit with a number of jaw-dropping bombshells, and it’s said that they “leave him full of rage and regret”.
Finally as mentioned, Nigel’s special episode airs this Christmas period. In a special episode that will explore Nigel’s dementia, he seeks advice from faces of the past in the form of Pat and Barry. So will he get the answers he needs, and what will Pat and Barry have to say?
