In June 2024, Emily and Alistair welcomed their first child, a son named Barney James Garner.

The actress wrote on Instagram at the time: “We have a beautiful son. Barney James Garner. All my dreams have come true.”

Earlier this year, the actress opened up about a secret health battle that led to her losing weight after giving birth to Barney.

She fell seriously ill with sepsis, which according to the NHS is a serious reaction to an infection that can be life threatening and requires urgent treatment in hospital.

She told Grazia: “I was trolled for being enormous when I was pregnant and I’m now trolled for having lost weight.

“My body holds all my trauma as well as my happiness and joy. I went through a very difficult pregnancy.

“I was very ill after the birth. I had sepsis, I couldn’t leave the house for weeks. It was awful.”
