Fox News hosts ‘creepily’ discuss intimate details of Barron Trump’s date
During a recent Fox News broadcast, hosts Jesse Watters and Julie Banderas speculated about Barron Trump’s private and romantic life, sparking backlash from viewers
Controversial network Fox News is facing criticism after a segment on Jesse Watters Primetime in which host Jesse Watters and fellow Fox personality Julie Banderas openly speculated about Barron Trump’s personal life, including whether the president’s teenage son had sex on a date.
The conversation, which aired on live television, quickly drew reactions for what many viewers described as inappropriate and “creepy.” Watters set up the discussion by describing alleged details about Barron’s social life.
“He brought her back to Trump Tower. He shut the whole floor down at Trump Tower just so he could be alone. One of his classmates said this, ‘He’s tall and awkward, but he was the thing, the guy. He had a lot of girls running after him.’ Another said, ‘He’s a ladies man for sure. He’s really popular with the ladies. He’s tall and handsome. Lotta people seem to think he’s pretty attractive.’ Imagine a guy brings you back to Trump Towerr, and the whole floor is shut down,” Watters declared.
Banderas then added her own commentary, saying, “If the guy was a Trump then I would believe it. And a lot of people are probably gonna criticize him, that he’s being a pre Ma-Donald, no pun intended there. But, he obviously did for security reasons, the security needed to sweep the floor. They shut down the floor. But man, this guy’s got game. I mean 6’7 and he’s got a whole floor at Trump Tower for a freakin’ date. I hope something came out of that date. I mean, I’m not gonna say what. But, like, dessert.” Watters responded, “Maybe something not too good, he needs to wait.”
The exchange quickly spread on social media after a clip was posted to X with the caption, “Creepiest s— imaginable — two middle aged Fox stars discussing on national television how Barron Trump is a ‘ladies man’ who has ‘got game,’ and contemplating whether he got laid on a recent date.”
Many other viewers voiced strong objections.
One wrote, “Fox News gets its ‘essence,’ from Donald Trump. What was otherwise taboo, is now MAGA mainstream. So how do normal people navigate that environment. There is no magical answer. You ignore them. Isolate the problem and they will drive each other crazy on their island of creepiness.”
Another directly appealed to the First Lady, saying, “@MELANIATRUMP can you please protect your son from his private life being exposed by the likes of @JesseBWatters and his constant perversion? He just made your son look and sound as if he’s actively having sex already in your house under your nose. Tell Jesse to mind his d— business.”
“I’m sorry, but Jesse Watters can no longer hide his thirst for men. It’s embarrassing,” one user said.
Another added, “Surprising Jesse Watters didn’t declare Barron a ‘sexual matador.’ Does anyone else think that both Fox personalities have a thing for Barron?”
A third called it “so disturbing,” writing, “But the Dems are the groomers???”
This is not the first time Watters has been accused of crossing a line.
Just recently, he faced international backlash after suggesting that the United Nations headquarters in New York should be “bombed” or “maybe gassed” following technical malfunctions during Donald Trump’s appearance there.
Watters later issued a private apology to U.N. officials, but critics noted he did not address the remark publicly.
Earlier this year, California Governor Gavin Newsom filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox, citing Watters’ role in airing a deceptively edited clip of a phone call with Trump.
Julie Banderas, a longtime Fox News anchor, has been less involved in controversy prior to her participation in this conversation. Neither Fox News nor the Trump family has commented on the segment.
