JAMES Martin’s girlfriend has officially confirmed their engagement.
Personal trainer Kim Johnson, 39, made a public declaration of love towards the 53-year-old TV chef on Instagram.
We reported in December how James and Kim were engaged despite his pleas that he would never marry.
Now Kim appears to have confirmed this when she called James her “fiance” online.
On Instagram, Kim shared a snap of a dish created by James alongside the caption: ‘So proud of my fiancé’.
Telly chef James popped the question to Kim late last year after almost two years of dating.
A source told The Sun at the time: “Everyone has seen the change in him since meeting Kim and he’s never been happier.”
Celeb chef James once declared in 2019 that he would never marry or waste his money on a flashy wedding ceremony.
He said: “Marriage doesn’t interest me in the slightest, mainly because I’ve catered for so many weddings, really.
“I admire people who do it, that’s fine, but I’m quite happy. I don’t need to spend £60,000 on a day, no, I’m more than happy, thanks.”
But personal trainer Kim, who he started dating in March 2024, is said to have made him “happier than ever”.
James, who has shifted three stone this year, popped the question – and the car fanatic sealed the deal with a brand-new Land Rover Defender.
Kim and James were spotted together for the first time in March of 2024 as they shopped for watches at Tiffany in London’s Mayfair.
Their relationship then took a significant step that summer when they went on holiday together in France.
In October last year, Kim moved into James’ country pad in Hampshire.
Sources say the chef splashed out on a top-of-the-range Land Rover Defender as an engagement gift.
James split from long-term partner Louise Davies after 12 years in December 2023, and before that dated Bond producer Barbara Broccoli.
Kim was married to Elizabeth Hurley’s ex-husband Arun Nayar, but they split in 2017.
