Gladiators star Jamie Christian-Johal, known as The Giant, has revealed his split from his wife Katie after two seasons on the hit BBC show. The 40-year-old star confessed that the pressures of fame, bodybuilding, and the demands of his career were too much for their relationship to handle. 💔

“I thought joining Gladiators would give me more time with my family, but instead, I became busier, not quieter,” Jamie said, opening up about the strain his bodybuilding career put on his marriage. Despite his hopes for a better life with his wife and two children, the reality was much harder.

Jamie admitted to using steroids before finding fame on Gladiators, and revealed in a recent podcast that bodybuilding put a huge strain on their relationship. “There were always ups and downs because of bodybuilding—because of how much it took away from me and the relationship,” he said.

“I’ve always said to my partner and kids, ‘I’ll probably live my life backwards, concentrate on me first, and then once I leave bodybuilding, it’s all about you.’”

In a candid interview, Jamie reflected on how joining Gladiators was meant to give him a better work-life balance, but instead, it led to even more stress. “I realized parts of myself weren’t true of that bodybuilder, robot Jamie,” he admitted, revealing how his newfound social side caused friction in his relationship.
