GORDON Ramsay has revealed plans for the legendary Hell’s Kitchen to finally return to the UK for a fiery reboot. The famously foul-mouthed chef exclusively told The Sun that the show could be making a monumental comeback on British screens.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun for its Proper Football Daily Show – available now on our Video Hub – Gordon joined the World Cup show as a Scotland football superfan.
He discussed how he recently visited Scotland’s World Cup camp and was impressed with the players.
During the chat, Gordon also shared some “good news” for Hell’s Kitchen fans.
Gordon said: “I can tell you exclusively, I think we’re gonna come back to the UK with Hell’s Kitchen live next year.
“And it’s about time because everywhere I go across the UK it’s ‘please bring it back’.
“So we’re talking now with ITV to bring it back.
“And fingers crossed we’ll have something exciting to keep you updated on.”
Speaking from his restaurant in Boston, US, the chef reflected on the show’s earlier years.
Gordon said: “We’ve been filming out here [America] for the last three weeks.
“We’ve just finished Hell’s Kitchen [US] season 25 – ITV gave birth to this thing twenty years ago when we went live.
“What the f*** they were thinking sending me live for sixteen nights with Al Murray…”
Hell’s Kitchen first aired in Britain on ITV in 2004 with Gordon Ramsay, 59, as head chef.
The reality cooking show proved popular with audiences, attracting seven million during the first episode.
Gordon left the show before the second series and has been executive chef for the American version which has just been filming its 25th series.
Subsequent UK series limped on with other chefs (like Gary Rhodes and Jean-Christophe Novelli), but lacked that distinct, terrifying Ramsay magic.
Following the madness of the UK debut, Gordon launched the US version in 2005 where the show has enjoyed 20 years of success.
This catapulted him into American superstardom, with “Idiot Sandwich” turning into a cultural catchphrase.
The news of the show’s potential return comes after The Sun previously revealed that ITV was in talks with his creative team about reviving Hell’s Kitchen.
Gordon’s time hosting the UK series remains infamous for his potty-mouthed put-downs and clashes with celeb contestants.
They included Coronation Street actress Amanda Barrie, now 90, who tried to hit him in the face during a row.
He had to block Amanda, who played Alma Halliwell in the soap, from taking more swings as she lost her temper.
If the reboot is half as wild as the original, viewers are in for a beautifully cooked, highly volatile treat.
