LAURA Hamilton has emotionally revealed she saw a teen die at sea in a harrowing tragedy that’s left her ‘unable to sleep’.
The A Place in the Sun presenter is abroad filming, and revealed in a video on Instagram that once she had wrapped for the day, she decided to head to the nearby beach.
But when she got there, something was clearly wrong.
Laura said: “I got about three hours sleep last night, and I think it’s because of what I saw on the beach yesterday afternoon.
“My mind was just racing and I was kind of repicturing the things that I saw.”
She then went on to explain what happened when she reached the beach, saying: “When I arrived there was quite a lot of commotion, didn’t really know what was going on.
“It turns out that there was a fatality and it was kind of a crazy thing to see.
“I thought the individual was older than they were, it actually turns out there were a 19-year-old boy, they tried to resuscitate him, but they couldn’t and sadly, he passed away.”
The emotional star continued: “I can’t begin to imagine what that poor boy’s family are thinking and feeling this morning.”
Laura, who has two children herself, then issued a warning to parents heading to the coast or abroad with their kids during the school holidays.
She said: “If you’re letting your children go into the sea, even as a grown up going into the sea, just be careful.
“But it was a kind of crazy thing to sort of see and witness and it just reminds us all that life is short.
“We don’t know what’s around the corner, so make sure you appreciate the people in your life because nobody knows what tomorrow holds.”
