I’m A Celebrity viewers were left seeing red last night — and for once, it wasn’t because of a gruesome trial.
Instead, it was ITV’s relentless stream of ad breaks that pushed fans to breaking point.
Just minutes into the episode, right as the klaxon sounded and the first head-to-head rivalry of the night was about to explode… the screen abruptly cut to adverts. And then again. And again.
“ITV, you’re kidding… right?” — Viewers Lose Patience
No sooner had Kelly Brook and Vogue Williams braced themselves to devour a pig’s brain than viewers were hit with another wave of commercials.
Social media erupted instantly:
-
“Adverts on the klaxon?! That should be illegal.”
-
“Every time it gets good — BOOM. More ads.”
-
“I swear we see more commercials than trials this year.”
For a show built on tension, anticipation, and sweaty-palmed cliffhangers, fans claimed ITV had “butchered the momentum.”

And Then Came the Second Outrage…
It wasn’t just the ad overload causing chaos.
Fans quickly pointed out something else:
the trials couldn’t be more uneven if they tried.
While Shona McGarty and Alex Scott were forced to pop fish eyes in their mouths and suck out the liquid, Ruby Wax and Tom Read Wilson were given the comparatively mild task of counting snakes in a box.
The reaction was instant — and brutal:
-
“How is chewing fish eyeballs the same level as touching a few snakes?”
-
“This is the definition of unfair.”
-
“I’d riot if I were Shona.”
A Season Fueled by Rivalries — and Frustration
ITV’s new Rivals format — pairing celebrities to battle against each other — was supposed to inject adrenaline into the series.

But with the combination of unbalanced trials and commercial overload, viewers say the show is “losing its rhythm.”
One fan summed up the mood perfectly:
“The jungle is meant to test the celebs… not our patience.”
ITV Yet to Respond
The network has not commented on the backlash, but viewers are already threatening to switch off if tonight’s episode repeats the same pattern.
For now, one thing is clear:
The jungle isn’t the only place where tempers are rising.
