As Josie Gibson approaches her milestone 40th birthday, the This Morning presenter is opening up about love, life, and what really matters — especially amid persistent rumors linking her romantically to co-host Stephen Mulhern.
In a heartfelt conversation with The Mirror, Josie made one thing clear: her son Reggie, 6, remains her number one priority. “Reg is my biggest distraction,” she admitted, emphasizing that emotional bonds and authentic connections are what she values most now. “They’re the things that will stay with you forever.”
Despite media speculation about a budding romance with Stephen Mulhern — fueled by photos of the pair holding hands backstage at Saturday Night Takeaway — Josie has now set the record straight: she’s single, focused on motherhood and career, and simply doesn’t have time for dating.
Love Isn’t Off the Table — But It’s Not a Priority
Josie explained her decision to remain single, noting that her time is split between raising Reggie and her busy career. “It wouldn’t be fair on anyone I dated,” she said candidly. “Where would they even fit in?”
Yet, she’s not unhappy. Reflecting on her life so far, Josie said: “If anything happened to me tomorrow, I’d feel like I’ve had a great time. Life has been stressful at times, but I’ve had a blast.”

But Stephen quickly dismissed the idea on This Morning, telling Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard that he was simply guiding Josie to her place during rehearsals. “That’s it. Josie, too, took the rumors lightly, telling MailOnline with a laugh: “I’m in love with Stephen Mulhern. There you go. But story of my life, I don’t think he loves me.”
Still, she made it clear that she isn’t actively seeking love right now — or even something casual. In an interview with OK! Magazine, Josie said: “To even kiss somebody, I’ve really got to love them. I can’t give my energy when I’m not completely into it.”
