Ken Jennings is sharing some rare insight into his family life.

Speaking with PEOPLE exclusively on the red carpet at the opening night of the TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood, Calif. on April 30, the Jeopardy! host said he and his son Dylan are currently embarking on a shared challenge together.
“I’m trying to see all the Major League ballparks with my son,” Ken, 51, explained.

“And so a lot of these are places I’ve never been, and so now I’m like, ‘Hey, I have trivia about Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. I know about the fountains and the waterfalls now,’ ” Ken continued.
He added: “So I’m accumulating Major League ballpark trivia at an alarming rate.”
The former Jeopardy! champion told PEOPLE that Dylan is something of a trivia whiz himself — but he doesn’t necessarily want to make a career out of it.
“He doesn’t want to compete in his dad’s domain, and that’s fine by me,” Ken said.
In addition to Dylan, born in 2002, Ken is also dad to daughter, Caitlin, born in 2006, both of whom he shares with his wife, Mindy Jennings.

While Ken seldom shares insight into his family life, he has been known to post the occasional photo of himself and Dylan at sporting events.
In a 2022 post shared on X, Ken and Dylan could be seen at an MLB game together. “The last time his team made it to the playoffs, this guy wasn’t born yet. He just started his sophomore year of college. Congrats @Mariners!” the Seattle-born television personality wrote.
Ken previously opened up about his parenting style while speaking to Yahoo! Life in 2021.
“Parenting is always a moving target,” Ken told the outlet. “You’re really just responding to the current needs of the kid, which might be different [needs] than six months ago.”
“So it’s a lot of listening, because the kid will tell you what you need — but it’s not going to be what you expect and it’s not what you remember you needing at their age,” he added.
As for what he said has surprised him the most about parenthood? “The constant change,” Ken told the outlet at the time.
“People tend to remember their childhood as a constant, steady state, but when you see a kid from a parent’s eye, you realize there’s a new interest or a new quirk every few weeks,” he further explained.
“It’s eye-opening how your own perception of childhood maybe isn’t that accurate. You need to be ready for your kid to have a new challenge or obsession monthly — or more,” added Ken.
