Karoline Leavitt was joined by friends at a baby shower for her second child, with her husband Nicholas Riccio also in attendance – but it was this that got fans talking
Karoline Leavitt posted a rare picture of her husband as he attended her baby shower, but fans were left concerned about their 32-year age-gap.
The 28-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday, March 25, to thank her friends for throwing the shower as she shared snaps from the event. The theme for the baby shower was pink, with Karoline previously revealing she’s expecting a baby girl.
Karoline showed off her blossoming baby bump in a pink floral maxi dress, with attendees including Attorney General Pam Bondi, Fox News host Rachel Campos Duffy and Cabinet Secretary Meghan Bauer. Fans initially thought Karoline’s husband Nicholas Riccio skipped the event, but she showed off the 60-year-old on social media.
Captioning a carousel of pictures from the event, Karoline wrote, “My beautiful friends threw me a beautiful baby shower, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I feel blessed to have so many strong and loving women in my life, and can’t believe we will welcome our little lady into the world in a few weeks. Thank you to the wonderful @ahanksphoto for capturing this lovely day.”
In one picture, Karoline was seen smiling next to her mom Erin Leavitt, who is actually five years younger than Karoline’s husband. The final picture in the post saw Karoline pose for a picture alongside Nicholas and their son Nico, who was born in July 2024.
It’s this picture that’s caught the attention of her followers, with many critics voicing their concern about the couple’s age-gap. “Isn’t your husband like 40 years older than you?” one person questioned.
Another shocked critic replied, “Hes 60?!!!!” Someone else pointed out, “When Dad was 30 Caroline was not born yet,” as a fourth troll commented, “Love the last photo with granddad!”
“What are you going to do with your grandfather when he is no longer functional?” another person questioned. Someone else echoed, “Is that your husband? He looks really really old! Good luck to him helping raise two little ones.”
Karoline’s baby shower was attended by her team from the White House press office, including executive assistant Kieghan Nangle, principal deputy press secretary Anna Kelly and deputy press secretary Abigail Jackson.
Press assistants Micah Stopperich, Olivia Wales and Georgia O’Neill were also in attendance, as well as assistant press secretary Allison Schuster and regional press secretary Liz Huston.
While a lot of Karoline’s loved ones were at the baby shower, some big names were missing. First Lady Melania Trump, Second Lady Usha Vance and Special Assistant and Communications Advisor Margo Martin didn’t appear to be at the event. It’s currently unclear why they didn’t attend the shower.
Karoline’s baby shower was decorated with white, pink and clear balloons and had a big pink backdrop with a gold “sprinkle with love” sign sprawled across. There was also a sign on a stand which read, “Welcome To Karoline’s Baby Sprinkle.” The sign had a floral design and giant pink bow on it.
