Kelsey Parker, 35, opened up about what she calls “the hardest month of the year,” sharing a deeply emotional tribute to her late husband, Tom, on the fourth anniversary of his passing. The poignant message not only honoured Tom’s memory but also highlighted Brain Tumour Awareness Month, urging the public to raise awareness and vowing to be “louder” in the fight against the disease.
In her heartfelt Instagram post, Kelsey shared a tear-jerking video montage, capturing precious moments with Tom, their children, and their shared love. Set to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” the clip featured Tom, glowing with joy while laughing and playing with their two children, Aurelia and Bodhi. Kelsey described Tom as her “best friend and soulmate,” and the montage brought back memories of their time together.
“Four years without you, Tom… and yet the fight still continues,” Kelsey wrote. “Not only is it Brain Tumour Awareness Month, it also marks four years since I lost my best friend, my soulmate, the most incredible daddy to our children.”
Kelsey also took the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the stark reality of brain cancer funding, pointing out that brain cancer remains the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40, yet it receives just 1% of national cancer funding. “That has to change,” she said, pledging to continue the fight for more awareness and support for families walking the same difficult path.
“This month, I will be louder. I will share more. I will speak your name and fight for every family walking this path. For you. Always,” she wrote, showing unwavering dedication to the cause.
Kelsey has been candid about her grief, describing how Tom’s illness changed her world. She emphasized that grief doesn’t just disappear — it’s something you carry with you. “You can be grieving and still be grateful. You can be broken and still be brave,” she shared.
Even as Kelsey moves forward in a relationship with boyfriend Will Lindsay, she has made it clear that love doesn’t replace loss but grows around it. She reminded her followers, “Cancer takes time, future, plans. But it can’t take the love. That stays. Always.”
