A doorbell camera captured a heartfelt moment between a grieving pet owner and the mail carrier delivering the ashes of her beloved German Shepherd.

In the footage, Krysten Klapatauskas — whose doorbell camera captured the sweet exchange outside her home in Wausau, Wisc. — is sitting on her front porch as mail carrier Malachi Knox approaches and hands her a package.

As the pair chat, Knox sits down next to Klapatauskas on the porch, and she eventually pulls him in for a tight hug.

According to Klapatauskas, her 10-year-old dog, Stoli, died from cancer on July 4.

Knox knew the late dog well, as he would also stop and pet Stoli while on his mail route.

“Stoli barked at him every day, unless she was on the porch. Then, she demanded pets and belly rubs,” Klapatauskas said, per Storyful.
