Talia Oatway, the ex-partner of Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers, has launched a scathing attack on the reality TV personality — claiming she is raising their disabled son alone while he shows “zero interest” in the little boy’s life or medical care.
Talia, 32, and Aaron, 38, welcomed their son Oakley in 2022. The child was born with Apert Syndrome, a rare condition that affects the formation of the skull, hands, and feet — causing bones to fuse together before birth.
“He’s My World — and I’m Doing It All Alone”
Taking to Instagram on Friday, Talia unleashed a furious rant, accusing Aaron of being absent while she handles the full-time care of their three-year-old.
“I’m absolutely fuming,” she began. “I do solo parent two of my children. Oakley’s here every single night — he has been for over a year — and the fact that this person can go online talking about his medical care when he’s shown zero interest? It’s mind-blowing.”
She continued:
“He doesn’t attend hospital appointments, he doesn’t show up for operations. It’s all fake, all for social media. Meanwhile, I’m dealing with nurses, MDTs, surgeries — everything — completely on my own.”
The mother-of-four added that she’s “had enough of pretending everything is okay,” insisting she’s tired of putting on a brave face while “doing it all without help.”
Oakley’s Brave Battle
Little Oakley’s health journey has been far from easy. Following his birth in 2022, Aaron and Talia described their “little soldier” as “in and out of surgery for 18–24 months.” But their relationship fell apart just four months later.
In the years since, Talia has documented her son’s medical challenges — including a recent hospital stay that left fans deeply moved.
Posting a picture from his hospital bed last month, she wrote:
“It’s been 11 days since we were admitted — another hospital transfer, two more general anaesthetics, endless tears, and another diagnosis for my Oakley boy.
Road to recovery now.”
She revealed that doctors discovered he needed yet another procedure on his skull, writing:
“Every day he stands strong and gets on with whatever life throws at him. I love you so much, my little fighter.”
A Rare Condition, A Mother’s Strength
The NHS describes Apert Syndrome as a complex craniosynostosis condition affecting the skull, hands, and feet, often requiring multiple surgeries through early childhood.
Talia has become an advocate for awareness around Apert and Autism, sharing her family’s story to inspire others. She previously admitted she often breaks down from exhaustion but continues fighting for her son’s care.
“People say I’m strong, but I don’t always feel that way,” she told followers in August. “Sometimes I just cry — when I’m overwhelmed, or when I can’t get my point across. But I try to hold it together for the kids.”
“He’s Doing Amazing — But It’s Hard”
Despite everything, Talia says Oakley is making progress. She shared that he can walk short distances but struggles due to the bone structure in his feet.
“At home he walks more, but only for a few minutes outside,” she explained. “The bones in his feet are becoming more prominent, which can cause pain up his back. Many children with Apert Syndrome need foot surgery or wheelchairs at times.”
“He’s doing amazing,” she added proudly, “but it’s a lot for one person to manage.”
“I’m Not Strong — I’m Just His Mum”
Talia, who also has children Romeo (6), Maddox (4), and Siennah (10), ended her rant by emphasizing that she’s not seeking sympathy — just honesty.
“Fair enough if I share about Oakley’s health, because I’m the one caring for him,” she said. “But someone else putting his medical details online for show — when they’re not involved — that’s what hurts the most.”
The Daily Mail reached out to Aaron Chalmers’ representatives for comment.
As of now, he has yet to respond publicly.
A Mother’s Reality
From sleepless nights to endless hospital visits, Talia says she’s determined to give Oakley the life he deserves — with or without help.
“I’ve had it up to here with pretending,” she wrote. “It’s hard, but I’ll keep doing it for him. Always.”
Fans flooded her messages with support, praising her for her strength and honesty. One wrote, “You’re doing an incredible job,” while another added, “Oakley is lucky to have you — you’re a true warrior mum.”
