Princess and Junior Andre reveals I’m A Celeb hopes for ‘full circle moment’
Princess Andre has said she wants to follow in her famous parents footsteps and go on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! one day
Princess Andre has revealed she’d love to go on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! one day – as it’s the show her parents, Peter Andre and Katie Price, met on.
The 18-year-old – who recently landed her own reality TV show, The Princess Diaries, which is about to film its second series – was speaking to Good Morning Britain at the ITV Palooza event that she attended with her big brother Junior, 20.
During the chat, Princess shared: “Mum and dad met on the show and then had us, ” as Junior, who also expressed an interest to be asked on I’m A Celeb, chimed in: “Yeah it’s mad, so it’s only right. It’s calling to us.”
“I’d love to do it, even though I’d be petrified for my life,” Princess continued, as Junior said: “Maybe let’s not mention what we’re scared of.” Princess replied: “Yeah, in case they put us up for it.”
Both Princess and Junior have grown up in the spotlight of their famous parents, who split when they were little. But both have gone on to carve out their own careers – Junior in music, and Princess as a fashion and beauty influencer who now has her very own reality TV show.
Shown on ITV – which would put her in good stead for being asked to go on I’m A Celeb in the future – Princess impressed viewers with her maturity in series one, as she tells fans how she wants to earn her own money off her own back away from her parent’s fame.
It showed her learning how to drive and embarking on her first business ventures with the help of her manager Claire, who also manages dad Pete and brother Junior. And with almost one million followers on Instagram alone and deals with Superdrug and Pretty Little Thing under her belt, she’s well on her way to becoming a businesswoman in her own right.
As her show The Princess Diaries gears up for its second season, it was revealed that dad Pete and step-mum Emily – who were shown in the first series – will take a step back so the show can focus more on Princess. While mum Katie only appeared in series one in a voice note Princess played on her phone.
Katie, 47, has claimed she was ‘banned’ from appearing on the show because of Princess’ management team, which is the same as her ex-husband Pete’s. It’s thought that neither Pete nor Katie will feature in the upcoming series of the show. A source told The Sun this “stops any unnecessary bickering in the public eye.” They added: “Both Katie and Peter are continuing to support Princess in the background.”
Speaking about the ‘drama and upset’ behind the scenes, a source told MailOnline: “Pete and Emily will not feature in The Princess Diaries seasons two and three. It was discussed between him and Princess, and they decided as a family that it’s better for the show to focus on Princess alone, rather than her family life.
“Katie was obviously very hurt over not being asked to film alongside Princess for season one, and she caused a lot of drama and upset behind the scenes.
“No one wants Princess to feel caught between her two parents, so Pete has taken a massive step back, which he hopes will resolve many of the issues. Everyone just wants the best for Princess, and the show is her series after all, now she’s 18, she can stand on her own two feet.”
Speaking on The Katie Price Show podcast before The Princess Diaries first aired, mum Katie rubbished any rumours of a rift between her and ‘best friend’ Princess and said: “Princess’ show The Princess Diaries comes out Sunday and there has been all of these rumours that there is a rift between me and Princess. There is absolute no rift between me and Princess.
“We have never, ever, ever, ever had an argument to this day or a disagreement. We get on like best friends, mother and daughter. Our personal life together is amazing.
“People need to know when I was with Pete, we were both managed by the same management [who now manage Princess]… I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoot, no signings or Superdrug openings.
“Why? Because I’m not allowed and not welcome and it puts people in a situation because I don’t want her to feel she has to choose between me and her work, because I want her to do well. Everyone knows she’s my daughter, so what difference does it make?” But Katie added: “I find it an insult because I’ve been in the industry 30 years and if there is anyone better to advise or be there, it is me.”
