RADIO and TV hosts are usually forced to be all pally for the sake of the audience – but often things can turn quite sour behind the scenes.

This week, Miquita Oliver, 42, opened up about being sacked from Radio 1 in 2005, following some “awful” comments about Fearne Cotton in an NME interview.

When asked how she would improve Top of the Pops, Miquita replied: “Get rid of the she-devil Fearne Cotton.”

With Fearne also being a Radio 1 presenter at the time, Miquita was let go from the radio station soon after – and it led to a years-long feud.

Speaking to her Miss Me? co-host Jordan Stephens, Miquita said: “I would like to tell the story of me and Fearne Cotton. So basically when I was 20 I did something really awful that I was really ashamed of for a long time.

“I did an interview in NME and I wasn’t very nice about her at all. I was awful about her and I was fired from Radio 1 because of it, so I lived in a lot of consequence.

“We didn’t like each other… I don’t even think she didn’t like me but because I’d been so awful about her she stayed away from me.

“When I was 24, she started going out with Steve Jones, who I presented T4 with every week.

“I’d see her all the time. We were civil but it was a little bit uncomfortable, but it was ok.”

Miquita went on to explain how it was Fearne who eventually buried the hatchet last year.

She reached out to Miquita on Instagram to check in on her, after hearing her get emotional on a separate episode of Miss Me?.

But they’re not the first presenter colleagues to have a big fall-out.

Nick Robinson and Emma Barnett

Radio 4’s Today programme hosts Nick Robinson and Emma Barnett presented just 13 shows together before Emma filed a complaint against Nick.

In March 2025, sources told The Sun she branded the former Beeb political editor “overbearing”, but the matter was resolved without any action being taken.

There was no suggestion Mr Robinson did anything wrong — amid talk of “clashing egos”.

The pair didn’t present together on air for over 90 days according to The Times – and it was all down to their presenting styles not gelling.

‘Nick has his views about the programme and can be quite blunt,’ one source told The Sun.

‘Every time [Barnett] is on, she is paired with Justin [Webb] or Amol [Rajan] because it’s amicable.’

They added that Robinson and Barnett were ‘going to have to appear together again at some point because they are a team’.

Amanda Holden and Phillip Schofield

Amanda Holden and Phillip Schofield’s feud has been going on since 2018 and still seems to be raging on today.

Even as recently as February, when her Heart Breakfast radio show co-host Jamie Theakstone mentioned Phil’s name, Amanda joked: ‘Oh God, please, let’s not mention that name on air, it’s a family show!’

It all started in 2018, when Amanda was passed over for the This Morning hosting gig in favour of Phil’s first choice, Rochelle Humes, while Holly Willoughby was in Australia presenting I’m A Celebrity.

Having presented This Morning with Phil throughout Holly’s maternity leave for her third child, Amanda had been originally tipped for the job.

However, a former daytime TV executive told The Sun at the time: “Phillip actively campaigned for Rochelle to get the job despite Amanda being more experienced — and having been told privately she’d got the gig.

“She feels Phil unfairly used his powers of persuasion. She was told he’d chosen Rochelle because she was easier to ‘manage’ on air – and understandably that incensed her.”

An ITV spokesperson denied the claims at the time and released a statement of support for Phillip.

The statement read: “Presenter line-ups on This Morning change regularly. Final decisions are made by producers, not presenters.

“Phillip is a much-loved broadcaster and part of the ITV family. He’s a consummate professional and held in high regard at ITV.

“Amanda is also held in high regard as a judge on one of our biggest shows.”

In 2019, Amanda confirmed her and Phillip’s feud to co-host Jamie on their Heart Radio Breakfast show , and insisted they’ll never reconcile.

Amanda has since appeared to make several remarks at Phillip’s expense, including posting a strongman arm Emoji to her Instagram page after news of his This Morning exit broke, commenting on who should replace him, and taking a cheeky swipe after the “queue-jumping” controversy surrounding Phillip and Holly’s visit to see the Queen lying in state.

Eamonn Holmes and Anthea Turner presented GMTV together in the 1990s, and their relationship was famously fraught.

In 1996, Eamonn gave the producers an ultimatum – telling them he would leave if Anthea was not fired.

Anthea later admitted she was devastated by the situation, and the pair’s relationship soured to the point where he called her “Princess Tippy Toes” in an interview.

Despite their troubled past, the pair reconciled in 2005, and in 2018, Eamonn invited Anthea to join him and Ruth on This Morning.

At the time, Eamonn joked with Anthea, saying, “You are an ex of mine and we’re on good terms, some people think we hate each other!”

Reflecting on the turbulent years, Anthea opened up about how she still felt hurt by the cruel comments, including the “Princess Tippy Toes” jibe.

In an interview with The Sun, she admitted, “I was always asked if I was ambitious and, if I said yes, I was made out to be a ruthless person who would walk over anybody to get where I wanted.”

In November 2024, Capital Breakfast host Jordan North hinted at a shock “feud” with his former BBC Radio 1 bosses – even dragging Greg James into the controversy – as he took a cheeky swipe at the breakfast show, which Greg presents, on live TV.

Jordan, 34, quit the station back in February 2024 after a whopping 10 years at the BBC.

The Sun then exclusively revealed his big money deal to join the Capital Breakfast team days later.

Speaking on Saturday Kitchen, he said: “Since we started in April, the figures have gone up, so we have done alright.”

Host Matt Tebbutt, 50, asked about the listenership and Jordan said: “It’s nearly half a million we have added on.

“We are beating Radio 1 on younger audiences as well. We are beating Radio 1!”

As the panel giggled, Matt said: “Did you leave on good terms?”

Jordan waved his hand in the air and said: “We’re fine, we’re fine,” before he shouted again: “We’re beating them!”

Johnny Vaughan and Denise Van Outen

Way before Holly Willoughby and disgraced Phillip Schofield were a hit on This Morning, Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan were the darlings of 90s television.

Their on-screen chemistry on the Big Breakfast made them one of Britain’s most lovable TV couples.

However, they had a 23-year on-off feud which was sparked by a pay row in 1999 and saw Denise quit the Big Breakfast.

She told Loose Women in 2017:  “I had a big fall out with Johnny Vaughan, who I did Big Breakfast with, and at that time we were like brother and sister. We were best friends – unbreakable.

“The whole relationship fell apart when we started to renegotiate our contracts because I always felt we worked together as a team and that’s how it should be.

“We created it together. Not just us but the rest of the team working on the show. I always had that mentality that it was about all of us.

“But Johnny – and I know there are other influences involved, and agents and everything – but he was negotiating separately from me, which I found out and obviously confronted him.

“I realised then at that point that our friendship had gone in two different directions and for me it was tarnished.”

The pair worked together again two years later, hosting BBC game show Passport to Paradise, and teamed up for the Capital Radio Breakfast show in London in 2008.

But the old magic didn’t emerge and Denise quit mid-way through her contract.

She accused Johnny of turning down her microphone while she was presenting – something he vehemently denied.

They didn’t speak for seven years after the spat, but in March 2021 Denise revealed that they had grown closer again.

And a red carpet reunion last year proved their bitter feud is well and truly behind them.
